Last year I just parked in the dirt lot behind the fence on the hill (if my memory serves me correctly). Worked out well. It was a shitshow trying to get out though so I just re-parked my car, turned the radio on, threw a towel on the dirt and played some cards with my buddy until basically everyone had already left and the cops came around and kicked us out.

It doesn't sound like these 3 day rumors have any substance but it would still be so awesome. I have every reason to believe the shows would be awesome.

He just kept playing and playing, very impressive stuff. Some of his "Tim Speak" seemed similar to "Dave Speak" to me which was kind of cool. I just felt bad there was so much talking in the crowd, almost kind of hard to hear the music clearly.

For N2, the only REASON I was allowed to stay in the lot (as they were being dicks and kicking us out) was because I had a grill going. Definitely paying for a private lot.

What are the odds of this being as early as May 17th/18th weekend? Just realized CCSU graduation is that Saturday at the XL Center. How sad is it that I'd much rather be at DMB than my own graduation? Not too sad right?

If you were more toward the back of the crowd or near the bar it was like the people were trying to talk over the music. My wife and I sat down in the restaurant area and grabbed a beer and appetizer. Could hear the music more clearly though obviously a tad more distant. Kinda sucked since I had been wanting to see him solo for a quite a while now, but I did catch the Iridium stream the next day.

If this broker site is correct, CT already has these acts booked. And these bands websites confirm their Hartford dates

Brad Paisley, Chris Young & Lee Brice Saturday 5/18/2013

Luke Bryan, Thompson Square & Florida Georgia Line Friday 5/31/2013

Rascal Flatts & The Band Perry Saturday 6/15/2013

Tim McGraw, Brantley Gilbert & Love and Theft Friday 6/28/2013

If correct, this leaves the first full weekend in June open for DMB at Hartford is June 7-8.

All of those dates are official on the artists websites. Also, May 24-25 is still free for DMB to play.

SPAC 24-25 and Hartford 7-8 would work better for me. Hoping the Ballsfest dates are right.

someone just said on the Rumors page to "bank" on SPAC being the 24th-25th of May, Memorial Day weekend (take it for what its worth)... I would be fine with that. Just means SPAC weekend comes that much sooner!

If this is true, then the earliest Hartford would be is the 7th/8th of June. The country thing takes up a lot of Fridays and Saturdays at the Meadows...kind of sucks since I'm not a country fan haha

    Were you lawn at SPAC?

Obvious difference being that SPAC has a balcony and a lawn that reaches a height and then has room to move about. All concessions on the outside away from the venue, the Meadows has some vending outside and some inside but all encroach on your moving about. The Meadows has more bathroom but also a larger capacity.

Now, just under the surface: the Meadows has Hartford, you will find nothing to do here except tailgate or party at your hotel. SPAC has Saratoga Springs, literally an amazing town with a ton of things to do for a weekend without even driving. The band seems to enjoy playing at both venues and I wouldn't miss either unless I really had to (I got married a few years ago and made this choice) so take this info for what it's worth.

Yeah I was lawn both nights at SPAC.. Hartford would probably be at least 1 night on the lawn, but would also like to get seats for the other night. The info is much appreciated.

Yeah gotta agree with you on the band enjoying both venues, SPAC is a given but I took a look back on some past shows from Hartford and I would say they def play above average shows there as well.

There are other SPAC veterans here, clearly, but I've been there since '05 (other than '10 which I stated earlier) and at Hartford since '00. If you can swing it, do but all the more power to ya for hittin' up the lawn, seats can give you a new, or at least different, appreciation for a venue.

the plan for SPAC this year is to stay off the lawn both nights... would like to get up on the balcony one night if possible (just think it would be cool to see a show from up there) and then down low the other.

The balcony is quite awesome but really my favorite amphitheater so I won't embellish. If you can split one night up and one down that's a great weekend.

And by the way, you're clearly a Flyer fan so I shouldn't be this nice tonight
