I'll have to check that out, thanks.
No problem - hope it helps!

You know the vibe at your workplace the best, but my vote is playing it safe with black pants. I'd prefer to be a tad overdressed than underdressed although both can be awkward.

I agree, I'd rather be a little overdressed. I checked out the site. It looks a bit upscale, but my supplier said casual. I think I'll go with black dress pants and dress it up with a nice top and jewelry.

Worst case scenario - you're a little too dressed up but you'll look great.

I personally like the dress shirts from Izod for style. Suprisingly Costco's Kirkland brand has some pretty nice dress shirts as well.

I agree. I received a white and a royal blue shirt from here for Christmas two years ago, and they looked and fit great! I was surprised as hell.

first off, you need nice shoes. as far as the whole "a businessmans shoes can tell you so much.." thats absolute bullshit. its a trendy thing to say, but it seriously holds absolutely no bearing. all it tells you is whether or not someone gives a shit about wearing nice shoes, and if you arent wearing nice shoes, you probably arent really work a real job anyway.

anyway, youre better off sucking it up and spending money, its so obvious when people wear cheap clothes in a business setting, and it looks horrible.

If you're a surgeon or doctor, and you're coming right from the hospital, nothing.

If you've been home for the day and then decide to go out that night and put on scrubs....then you need to go see the doctor above and have your head examined.

Edit: Unless it's Halloween. Then anything is fair game.

Nice shoes tells you that a person likes to wear nice shoes.

I think it's a LITTLE true.....I think you can tell at least a little about someone's shoes - the make, brand, look & by the wear on them....

their suits aren't bad. but for that price, you can buy something that looks better and is more in style.

Good for them. Just because all of the above criteria is met, doesn't mean that person is a good dresser.

i just thnk the argument that you can tell so much of a person by their shoes is a little pretentious

In a business environment it's not pretentious in the least bit.

The addage is a little less applicable in social situations, but it still applies a majority of the time.

They may not care in the sense that they are worried about it, but I bet they all have nice shoes. You're not going to get me to believe that they are wearing nice suits and shoes from Payless.
