Roi doesn't play it on this version, just Boyd.

The horns have been doing some different songs at the end of Tim's solo in #41 this year... I have a few of them on the Almanac (mostly If You Want Me to Stay, which they did for almost all of 2009), but if anyone wants to take a stab at the rest, I'd be much obliged (One of them sounds like the chorus from RHCP's Purple Stain, but I'm pretty sure it's not that...)

BTW, Jesse, I've finally verified and put quite a few of these up on the Almanac, so keep up the good work

If you want a cluster fuck of Interpolations, listen to jimi thing from 8-27-10 at marysville. It was littered all over the place!

In Order Starting with first Jam - at least what I recognized)
Jeff - Woody Woodpecker? (very start I recognize but don't know what it is...)
Trombone - Putting on the Ritz
Rashawn/Jeff - Possible one at 7:10ish? Can't recognize it but I know I've heard it.
    Jeff - Favorite Things 8:50ish
    Sax - Inspector Gadget 9:00
Trombone - Ain't No Rest For the Wicked - Cage the Elephant 9:12
    Sexy Mother Fucker Outro

This one is really obscure because it was omitted from the official release, but 07-17-10, at around 3:12, Dave songs a few lines of "New York, New York". Also, in Live at Wrigley Field, Rashawn Ross interpolates "Take Me Out To The Ballgame" during Grey Street.

I swear in the Two Step from Hershey 6.27.08 that the horn parts by Roi/Rashawn is a "Zero" interpolation by the Smashing Pumpkins.

Can you post some examples of these? I would never catch these, since I don't know Mingus at all.

The horns interpolate Billy Cobham's "Red Baron" over Tim's solo on Jimi Thing N3 of the Gorge last summer.

Got one to add to the list: at the D&T show in Canindaigua (07-06-16), during LIOG Tim plays a little bit of Pachelbel's Canon. It's at 4:41 in this video: https://youtu.be/p9D9TP6oDzY

This was one of LeRoi's calling cards, and it's a fairly old jazz tradition to "quote" other songs during a solo. He was a fountain of jingles, ditties, snippets, and interpolations. It was one of his most prominent musical quirks, even before DMB. Lots of people I spoke to in the course of writing about him talked about his ability to throw in songs from cartoons, top 40, you name it. He was even throwing in shit from viral videos. I wrote about it here: http://roilives.tumblr.com/post/1344...ate-rain-moore

Somewhat recently (2010?-present) they've been doing a Lost in Space theme interpolation at the end of Billies, almanac doesn't make note of it though.
