DOOF cover

I know it's a little rough around the edges -

but we did our version of Dreams of Our Fathers to a capacity crowd on Friday at a tribute to dave and tim, and there actually some heads who knew what it was! faith in humanity restored. Check it out and give me some criticism.

Sounds good! It could definitely work as a D&T tune!

My dad went to this. He thought you guys did a nice job. Is this going to be a regular thing? I'd love to come out for this in the summer when I'm home. You guys should try to get a date for Party On The Patio next year. You'd have a great turnout.

Yes it is indeed. he's put out 3 solo records in the last 3 years! They're all pretty rad and can be found here:https://aaronfink.net/

Thank you all so much for your kindness. Now let's start a campaign for dave and tim to play it!

"if some rando dude from Dallas PA can play DOOF, you can play it!"

    also, here's Minarets.

Yepper - i bought it in 2000 (from a kid who ended up being part of the Segway invention team) right after dave made his Taylor switch. It was dead minty when i bought it and it's since gotten me through about 2,781 gigs. Played the finish right off.

Let's spread the word and share this on your FB timelines! - the only way it'd get to dave is with viral social media. i'd love to hear him play this as DOOF and FTT are my two favorite tunes from that particular record.

also, here's Save Me and Grey Street. i'd just gotten over Strep throat and my voice was shot but i gave it my all.

Thank you so much! Feel free to share that video as much as you want, perhaps social media could play a part in getting it to Dave's eyes and making him think " if some schlep from northeast PA can play this tune than certainly i can"

    wishful thinking

I don't post anymore... but logged in just to reply that was a hell of a fucking cover. Impressive as shit. You are also not annoying in trying to mimic Dave and his mannerisms or style of talking which is refreshing. So many covers are people trying to act like Dave. Good shit.. I'll have to check out the rest.

    Come play up in CT

i will certainly - if by chance they have venues that you can make more than $18 at last time i played NYC was Sin-e and i drew 31 people out at $10 a head and walked out of there with a whopping $12. I'll be there this Monday and Tuesday for Tony Levin, though! Any good music on monday night? i'm staying in midtown.

    Typical NYC for you

Not sure about Midtown but if you can pop down to the West Village, Fat Cat is pretty good and Smalls Jazz Club is great (assuming you like jazz).

i can pop in anywhere, walking in the city is the best. I was there for Sting during the Blizzard a few weeks ago. It was amazing, Soho was like a set for the Walking Dead. if you hear of anything cool, let me know! I'll try to book our tribute somewhere in Manhattan in the summertime, though, if you think Tributes do well in the city.

thanks for all the kindness, i'll remember it tonight as i'm playing a bunch of inane covers at my local casino.

Sorry to say, but I think Fat Cat is too trendy for a DMB cover band. Wish that wasn't the case. I think Red Lion would be a better bet.

    EDIT: *too hipster

Thanks man! I was actually operating at about 60%. I picked up a bug from one of my kids and it really jacked me up. I also normally tune to E flat and my pal insisted we do standard, ugh. I was planning on doing that part in full voice but as i came up to i realized it wasn't happening, fml.

I really appreciate it! If anyone has a local place that would be interested in our tribute and pays in $, i'd be happy to give whoever coordinates it a percentage.
