STRICT Ticket Policy for Bruce Shows

<<In the spirit of fair access to tickets for Bruce's fans, this event has placed a "WILL CALL ONLY" restriction on premium seating areas (floor seats). When you order, you will see a type of ticket designated as "Premium Seating / Will Call Only". These tickets may only be retrieved through WILL CALL day of show; these tickets cannot be delivered via any other method.

You will need to bring your government-issued photo ID and credit card you used to purchase the tickets to the box office window on the day of the show to retrieve these tickets. Doors open at 6:00 PM. Upon pickup, you and your guest will be escorted directly to the floor seating section. You will not be allowed to exit the arena and return later for the concert once you have picked up these tickets. There is a lower supply of these types of tickets, which may decrease the likelihood of success in obtaining them. However, the actual likelihood is unknown, as demand may vary. >>

Pretty tight! You will be escorted!

Re: STRICT Ticket Policy for Bruce Shows

It does seem a bit strict...and like it may take a while if every pair of ticket holders need to be escorted down. But, if its going to eliminate brokers and ebay-ers from raping fans with outrageous prices, then I'm all for it.

Think about how many bullshit WH accounts that scalpers have that would never get used again...

Indeed. It would also cut down on high seniority people trying for tickets for 3rd parties.

If the warehosue were to implement this, but just remove the escorting into the venue part it would take a huge chunk out scalping and brokering. If I order tickets for AVMT, but then get TM that are better; I'll still be at the venue to pick up the WH tickets, then I just meet up with the person I sold them to(for face value of course).

Geez, do they make you go down to the box office in a cart drawn by oxen and make you jump through flaming hoops also???

But in all seriousness, that's one strict policy.

Re: STRICT Ticket Policy for Bruce Shows

That's actually a pretty bullshit policy. I ordered tickets for 2 shows this summer and I still don't know if I can make it to either of them. Although it would eliminate scalpers it would make it harder on people who don't exactly know where they'll be 6 months from when dates are released.

Yep. And i have to take off my shoes at the airport and subject myself to increased scrutiny and time in line, but I've never hijacked an airliner. It's a utilitarian approach, most good for the most people.

Re: STRICT Ticket Policy for Bruce Shows

Taking off your shoes and stepping through a metal detector is a lot different than throwing away 300 dollars because you can't predict what if you'll be able to go to a concert half a year in advance. If they went to that system, they should allow refunds for a nominal fee.

Re: STRICT Ticket Policy for Bruce Shows

DMB can't do this because they are playing MUCH larger venues.. all of Bruces shows this tour are 1500 - 5000 person venues... DMB's summer venues are 19,000 - 45,000 (not counting NYC)

Sure they could. No one ever said that the policy was for all tickets, just premium tickets. I would imagine that to be pit tickets and maybe the first 20 rows or so of each of the front sections. Granted that's still a lot of people, but definitely worth it in my eyes if it gets the good tickes out of scalpers hands.

Springsteen has done this for every tour since he reunited w/ the E-Street band in '99 including stadium shows. The only difference is that when its a larger venue the restriction only applies to the PIT/GA section directly in front of the stage and, sometimes, the first 10 or so rows behind that. This tour its the PIT and Reserved floor sections in small venues and PIT and first few reserved floor rows in NJ (I'm pretty sure). So the number who need to be escorted is pretty manageable overall. DMB seats don't quite have the truly astronomical value that Bruce Pit Tickets can bring, but wristbanding and/or escorting for the closest and choicest rows would help curb the rampant selling of WH tickets through brokers.
