Hey Joshua, I just sent a big box your way. A bunch of my co-workers and myself all put in stuff to try and make your stay there a little better. I also put in some Dave and Tim shows both audio and dvds. Be on the look out.

Re: Help out the troops around the world

Thanks, y'all. We all wanted to see the new Storytellers or at least get a copy of the show where they recorded it. Thanks for all the stuff we've gotten so far. The response has been so good, I'll just ask random folks if they are fans and then when they say yes I give the CD. Thanks again everyone.

DMB fans stuck in Iraq

Hello, I heard of your web site just by browsing around the Internet when I was supposed to be researching something. I see that it is a pretty interesting place for fans to meet and I plan on registering.

I am in an Army unit out of Chicago, IL, but am from Pittsburgh, PA. I am a big fan of Dave Matthews Band and I have been so since I was in high school in 1994. Everyday when we are coming into work we play some Dave. We are going to miss the DMB tour this year and it is a shame we won't get to hear Stand Up live. I was wondering if any sympathetic traders out there would be so kind as to send us some copies of the shows? Especially if you have the Pittsburgh shows from this year!! It would really give us a little slice of home and take us away, at least mentally, from this place we DO NOT want to be.

Thanks so very much,

I got an email from Josh as well, I will be sending him the Pittsburgh shows, and can only hope some fellow ants can help them out as well. I know it is so little for what they are doing over there for us.

I'll send some shows too. Like Jessica said, its not much for what they're doing for us...but if there's something I can do to make even one minute of their day better -- I'm in.

Re: DMB fans stuck in Iraq

Would someone be willing to post Josh's e-mail addy?

I know some troops are able to watch DVDs depending on where they are stationed, if that's the case I'd be happy to send a bunch of DVDs to him.

I sent Josh a couple DVDs. He's posted a couple times in Crumbo's "Help out the troops around the world" tread.

Re: DMB fans stuck in Iraq

I've got a nice little package already to go out to him/them bright and early Tuesday morning. I would also like to go on to add, that any information on helping out the other troops is welcomed. If you are a troop, please post your info. If you know a troop, then feel free to post their info. I think most of us are more then happy to do what we can to help them pass the days a little quicker out there.

I think its great that you are helping the troops. We send something every month at my work for a few guys over there.

Hey can I get a copy of the new Storytellers. I also noticed that you had a DVD of 3/31/03 in Oxford,Oh at Miami Uniiversity. That is like 1 of a few shows that I have missed in the last 4 years that was played in OHIO. I was so pissed. I was wadering if it was possible to get a copy of the DVD to both. THe part where he says "I wish I had a purple cowboy suite on" has to be hillarious!!! Please I am beggin you!!!
That would be amazing!!

Re: Help out the troops around the world

Hey y'all I've gotten a ton of shows as well and I keep spreading them around as best as I can. Plus it is really cool to recieve mail all the time. I hope that this is something that I can keep going after I leave. Unfortunately for me, I have a lot longer than The Gravedigger. I am here until Dec....

Still thanks for all the shows and e-mails. It means the world to us out here.

It would be my honor to send any shows of mine to any troop stationed overseas. Email me @ jbrunnelson@adelphia.net or PM me here. Nothing I do could express my gratitude for what you do day in and day out. I enjoy all the freedoms we have and I am forever indebted to you and those who have given the ultimate sacrifice so that I can type this. Come home safe and give 'em hell.

Re: Help out the troops around the world

Hey everyone I just wanted to say thanks to those who have sent out the shows (and the packages of care that came along with it). I also would like to thank the tapers because without you all we wouldn't have the shows in the first place.

Peace,
Joshua

Re: Help out the troops around the world

Hey everyone, I hate to seem like a beggar. In fact I feel like I am on a street corner with a sign that says, "Will go to war for DMB shows," but I was asked by some of the guys I have shared the shows with in other companies if we had any of the nights #34 was played and/or the Randall's Island shows. The response to this thread has been so wonderful and we've gotten a lot of shows, that I feel bad even asking for more, but I want to hear those shows, too. I just wanted to throw it out there. If no one sends another thing there has been more than enough wonderful support and generosity from this entire online community. I can't wait to come home so I can look at it more in depth and on a computer that isn't so slow. It is such a wonderful show of support and you are all awesome people. If these requests can be granted, cool. If not, thank you for all you have done already. I have a huge stack of addresses that I want to get personal thank-you notes to, but we have been so busy.

Peace,
Joshua

Josh, I sent you a package (no #34) this week. I'm waiting to receive some very recent shows with #34 and Say Goodbye. Will copy and send to you as soon as I receive them.

I'm sure your "busy" time is nothing that I can imagine. Stay safe.

Re: Help out the troops around the world

Thanks everyone! The multiple copies thing helps, too. We do have access to CD burners, but it can be a hassle to track one down and then hope it isn't being used so I can make copies of the shows. I can't thank you all enough.

Graciously,
Joshua

Re: Help out the troops around the world

Hi Josh,

I can drop a copy or two of the 7/30/05 Randall's Island show in the mail as well as the 8/19/05 show that Crumbo just recently seeded. I know this is a DMB site, but are there any other bands I/we could send your way? I have a friend who just got back on the Carl Vinson and I sent him Grateful Dead, Led Zeppelin, George Carli, etc. If there are any other bands you and your friends would like please let me know.

Thanks for all you do and God Bless all of you!

I would like to get my younger brother the 6.22.05 concert at ford pavilion. We went to this show and he left for the Air Force two weeks after. If anyone can help me out I'd really appreciate it and I'm certain he would too.

Thank You
