B+P for 15: D+T 2.14.97 + FREEBIE CONTEST

Hey hey! I'm addicted; this'll be two offers in one week, which is unusual for me. But the Red Rocks Team B+P got me all warmed up for the fall, so I'm just a burnin' fool, I guess.

This is a great show: the sound quality is awesome, the setlist is great, and there's a number of singularly hilarious moments (No one, ever, should bring noise makers to a concert; it's just rude. It does, however, make for one hell of a funny moment.)

Also, there is a contest involved. The first person who can correctly guess my dream car (year, make, model, sub-model--gotta have all of those) gets a free show of their choice (my list is in my sig). The contest is open to people who don't sign up for the B+P. If you do sign up and guess correctly, I'll include the extra discs in your pack, and I'll pay the extra postage to get them to you. Since I know a lot of people are going to say, "Man, there's a lot of cars out there; this will take forever," I'll give you a couple hints as we go. The first is that it's not an American car.

I'll take the first 15 people that sign up, and I may keep it open after that, if it fills up fast. Sign up like this:

#
Name
Email
Your guess for my dream car

I'm going to run this under the same rules I usec for the last one; I know it's a lot to swallow, but it makes everything go so much more smoothly. If you're after something on my list besides this show, and you didn't make the last offer I made, pm me or email me with B+P in the subject line; we'll work something out.

Peace!

Ok this is a tough one but I love contests. I will like the B&P for the D&T 2.14.97 show. Here is my guess for the freebie: 1998 Porsche C4 Cabriolet.

Re: B+P for 15: D+T 2.14.97 + FREEBIE CONTEST

Oh yeah, I forgot to mention. If, by some freak chance, someone actually DOES guess this before tomorrow morning, DON'T PICK YOUR SHOWS TODAY!! I'm getting a vine of 13 shows with Halloween in the setlist tomorrow morning, some sbd and dsbd, so wait to pick your show, unless you don't like Halloween.

And no, Maryellen, that's not it. I don't like Porsches; I think they're over-engineered as well as overpriced. But good guess!

Nope, neither of you guys got it, either. A Yugo? C'mon, man at least pick something nice! To be honest, I have no idea what that car ('85 Yugo) is like, so it might actually be nice, but what I have in mind is a lot sexier than anything Yugo ever came up with.

Here's another hint: it's a Japanese car.

proudestmnky, you're close; elaborate on what you've got. Remember, I'm looking for the sub-model, too. But it might not be the one everyone thinks it is!

Ha! Ed, no offense, but I wouldn't drive an SUV if someone paid me to. I'm strictly a sports car/pickup-truck kinda guy.

IMO, DVD players have no place in cars. If your kids can't deal with a car trip, that says more about your imagination during a trip, and your parenting, than about what cars are lacking.

No one's got it yet. I'll be back on later to comment more, but I got a lot to do this afternoon.

And that is one. Ugly. Little. Car. Like a Ford Fiesta, but with a rally package. Strangely enough, I have seen a Fiesta that someone bothered to turn into a rally car. It rolls on every other corner, he said...

It looks a little like $240 worth of puddin' on wheels. (anyone, anyone?)

Re: B+P for 15: D+T 2.14.97 + FREEBIE CONTEST

Wow, so no one must have seen the post I put out about proudestmnky being really close. You're all way off, though I do like RX-8s. Not as much as the -7s, though. And Supras are pretty cool, too, but then they let one in that Gillette Mach 3 commercial, and it was all downhill from there.

BTW, proudestmnky, what about these: the upcoming '07 Shelby GT-500, '05 Ford GT, '05 Corvette Z06, '01 Saleen S7, '94 Dodge Viper GTS-R, '89 Chevy Monte Carlo SS, '70 Chevelle SS 454, '69 Plymouth Roadrunner SuperBird, '69 Hemi 'Cuda, '69 Pontiac GTO Judge, '68 Shelby GT-500KR, '67 Shelby GT-500, '66 Shelby GT-350R, '66 Corvette Stingray, not to mention the Shelby Cobra Coupe Racer... I could go on, but there aren't that many other Shelby cars out there! Ha ha... No, really, this country has a lot of worthwhile cars, and not all of them are muscle cars.

Keep guessing!

Re: B+P for 15: D+T 2.14.97 + FREEBIE CONTEST

haha alright...i wasn't counting old time muscle cars, which are awesome. i'll give you the zo6, ford GT, '07 shelby gt, (those are pretty much the 2-3 i meantioned as exceptions), but at least for me, the other ones aren't on the same level. i mean, would you get a saleen s7 over a 360 modena (or the new tt s7 over the f430?). as for your car...how about nissan skyline gtr r34 v-spec II? or an r33 or r32. i know that a few guesses, but there are so many sub-models...

Re: B+P for 15: D+T 2.14.97 + FREEBIE CONTEST

Lol, ok, I'll give it to you. I was going for the R34 V-spec Nur-1, but you got pretty close with those. They're just sweet. Aggressive looking, but not so much that you'd be afraid of it at a stoplight, unless you knew what it was. Funny how those Japanese engineers think of putting a twin-turbo straight six in what's essentially a sports sedan. Combine that with intelligent all wheel drive, 4 wheel steering, automatically adjusting rear wing, factory installed undercarriage diffusers, a specially-designed computer-controlled touch-screen engine monitoring system, and you've got one helluva a car. After import taxes and shipping, you can own your very own V-spec II for about $100,000 or so.

*FREEBIE CONTEST CLOSED*

If you want to search this forum for "Halloween vine," you'll see the 13 shows I'll get tomorrow morning. Combine those with my list (it's in my sig), and you can pick your bonus show from those.

Peace!

Re: B+P for 15: D+T 2.14.97 + FREEBIE CONTEST

awesome!! once i read your thoughts about the porsche, i figured it would be a japanese car. sounds like an amazing car; to be honest, i don't know that much about skylines, except that they are very very good cars. as for my dream car...either ferrari f430 or bmw m5, i think.

i searched the halloween vine, and the 5/15/98 show looks good. in that vine its on a dvd though, and i don't know anything about them. is it possible to get it on a cdr? audio if you have it, if not then shn is fine. and the b&p offer. thanks a lot man, awesome offer and cool contest!

I can get you 2 CDRs of .SHNs, if that's cool.

As far as the cars go, an M5 would be cool, but I'd go after an M3-GTR myself. The Ferrari would be awesome, though. What's the guy in the Matrix Reloaded say? "Like wiping your ass with silk"? Something like that, anyway. And an RSX would be sweet, too. I really like the new design they pulled out a couple years ago.
