nope, they did it the first night of starlake (6/9/06). i was at both 6/9 & 7/1, and i think boyd played the main riff several bars longer at starlake, than he did at alpine. i actulally thought the starlak version was a little better, still sooo much fun to hear live though.

now the good stuff:
I think the whole 2-niter experience can be looked at on different levels. so here is my breakdown...
SPAC vs. Alpine!
Physical venue - ALPINE (by a landslide!)
Tailgating - SPAC
Shows by setlist - Alpine
Shows by atmosphere - it really depends who you're with and where you're sitting... my best experience was SPAC N2... but that is purely because of the group i was with and the spot we were at. Alpine N1 was very similar, but with the added douche bags and teenagers pushing their way through the crowds, detracts from the show.
People - SPAC... sorry Alpine, I saw way too many assholes picking fights, acting retarded, being rude, and fucking off in the parking lots after both shows.

So overall... for a 2-niter experience, I have to lean towards SPAC... but for a purely DMB musical experience, Alpine.

the SUAD ones were all red with white lettering it just said Sweet Up and Down

between the "Sweet Up" and the "And Down" It said Alpine Vally 06', the A was a Tree and the V was something, but it just looked cool the A pointing up and the V pointing down

Fucking idiots in the lawn, douchebags. If you say the crowd is nicr at SPAC then i believe you and that makes SPAC even closer to being tied with Alpine, i dont really care either way though. Fucking douchebags.

really that's my only complaint in comparison... the tailgating at SPAC is sweet cause the cars aren't QUITE as packed in... there's no gravel... and everyone just seems a little more laid back. So it's easier to just hang out. There isn't the worry of driving over 2 dozen glass bottles on the way out or tripping over a pile of trash. People don't pick fights with you over a $25 grill... it was nuts there.
I'd say the climb out of the venue is a downside, but it kinda added to the Alpine experience. Not that I enjoyed it after all that rocking... but at least now I can say I did it!
