Senna- 10/10

One of the best documentaries I've ever seen. This was an unbelievable film.

Every time I think about it I remember liking it more. Need to give it a rematch soon.

Saw Brave. 7/10. Not bad. Excited that Nemo is coming back to theaters in September.

Heard at work that Batman is already sold out.

Saw Brave last night too, 6.5/10

One of the weaker Pixar movies, still better than Cars, but they fit in a lot of funny stuff with all the fighting and the little brothers.

I'm excited for Monsters University, that preview was hilarious with Mike on the ceiling fan.

Figured Id drop this in here for discussion. Interesting to see the reaction from the Internet vs. people I talk to. Based on what I know about the regulars this thread is gonna come down on the side of "fuck it watch what you want."
I lucked out, my SO is usually pretty willing to go see movies with me. She also doesn't expect me to go with her to see something like The Vow. At the very least she appreciates good acting, even if she doesn't always like the same kind of movie I do.

TV I've had more trouble with. She really just doesn't watch that much TV, I think the last show I successfully hooked her on was LOST. I've struck out with TV shows since then, but she'll usually at least watch an episode with me even if she doesn't have any interest in it.

I like the DVR idea, that's good thinking.

Adventureland. Wow. It might be one of my favorite romance-centered comedies ever. Really enjoyed it; the vibe, the humor, the music. I could relate to Eisenberg's character a lot. Bill Hader was hilarious

Definitely I despise NASCAR (and it has nothing to do with NASCAR anyway) and know nothing of Formula 1, and I loved the film.

Re: What was the last movie you watched?

Rewatched a few films recently.

Hitman - best mindless shoot em up country hopper with a smokin hot babe ever

Troll Hunter - if you haven't seen this yet, you must. Like Blair Witch/Cloverfield, only with better camera work & a much better story

Thor - I'm still surprised how good this was. Well done

Ong Bak - never gets old. Great fight Chase scenes

District B13 - as awesome as Ong Bak, only in French.

One of my favorites. Rewatched it a couple nights ago and I still loved it as much as ever. It always takes me back to the days of my first job as well as first love.

Have you been drinking drugs?

Re: What was the last movie you watched?

Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter

6/10

Tried my hardest to go into it with an open mind, but I had a very hard time not cringing at all the references to historic people/places/events. Otherwise, this movie was extremely entertaining. Most ridiculous train fight scene ever, it just kept getting more outrageous. I started losing interest towards the end, once all the fighting lost its shock value.

That's awesome, man. I didn't necessarily identify with the issue at hand, but the article was really funny. Definitely dig your style.

I don't recall you posting your own stuff in here, but you probably did and I just thought you were posting up an article you found.

All the girls at work were talking about it today. Not one of them had ever heard of Steven Soderbergh when I mentioned him.

I really really hate talking about movies at work, and I always end up doing it because everyone knows I watch a lot of movies. My go to answers when people ask me about a movie are "It sucks, you'll love it" or "It's fantastic, you'll hate it."

Thanks homie. I havent been doing it for too long. A few months. Ants is a good sounding board for topics like that. Plus, it gives you a real sense for what interesting topics arent being addressed.

Its funny, my friends were all "fuck yeah my wife not watching tv drives me crazy." But the Internet was quite different. A lot of people who frequent pop culture sites, rather predictably, tend to be in relationships with people of similar pop culture interests. The whole idea of compromising on a show was just foreign to them.
