When DMB does stop touring. I will miss them dearly. My summers will be missing a little something something... but life will go on for me. (and most of you)


BUT... (and this is directed at a shitload of ants)


When you whiney little pricks of fans that bitch about everything that DMB does as not good enough-- from setlists to rare songs to Dave's voice to new albums -- finally realize that you will not see them again and have nothing to bitch about and that your lives are a little less because you can't see them and can't complain, I will smile because you all deserve it.


And then you can all bitch about how they should tour again.


I feel sorry for you all that you cannot enjoy shows. It must suck. And for all of you that are going to shows and going to have a sick fucking time no matter what is played (of course, I'll have a bunch of songs I'm hoping for but, I'll be happy regardless), I salute you.

Im bitter with a lot of the fan's on this site. Not the band at all.

Im just sick of hearing people ask for things just to bash them the next day.

IE- Bring Dreaming tree back. It comes back and then it's a "crowd killer".

Bring back the Maker/ What cover do you want to hear? Then -- "oh they always play The Maker" and "why do they play so many covers??"

Most people are never satisfied here. If they played haloween on every stop this tour... people would get angry and say something negative... or Blue Water for that matter.

How is this any more relevant than posts by those of us that bitch about the band? It's just another opinion. None of us tend to get that worked up to start calling names and flipping out and making posts about how much other fans piss us off. That's not to say they don't to some extent, but we keep it minimal while you guys whine more than anyone about fans! If you're so secure in your tastes and love for the band, why does anything we say really affect you so much? I agree...even though I NEVER want them to stop touring, I am not bitter towards any ants on this i just feel bad for them. I LOVE STAND UP and appreciate any song that DMB plays at a show. I have never heard more hate towards Bayou Hunger and Smooth Rider (three great live songs) then I do here. Out of all my friends who love DMB I am the only one who frequents these boards and its crazy how people on here hate DMB. They don't pay attention to any setlists or rarities and just go to hear an amazing show why can't people on these boards do that, its mind-blowing.

We all dont HATE the band and hope they stop touring and break up, if we did then we wouldnt be on this site.

i was dissapointed (heavily) with stand up. i am concerned with the direction the band is going and the apparent trouble in the studio. i am also concerned about leroi's apparent lack of passion and dave's always worsening voice.

i still would never ever say i cant wait until DMB breaks up. they are still my favorite band and ill stay with them until that last day. people bitch because they love the band are dont want them going down the shitter. (though the shitter is a destination subject to personal opinion).

All music is about personal opinion unless you are talking about notes on the page.

But in general, yeah. Where I disagree with you is that I think the trouble in the studio is the best sign that maybe the band is re-evaluating their musical direction over the last few years. Which, to me, is a wonderful thing if true.

instead of telling the people that are simply using the forum for its purpose (to discuss the Dave Matthews Band) to leave, which is done in almost every thread.....why don't the people that have a problem with somebody saying something negative about the band leave? People act like there is a rule that you can't complain about the band, an album, a show, a setlist, a song, etc...i've always found that strange.

And inevitably, a handful of people are going to say "Well if you hate what the band is doing these days, and you rip on the band on a fan site, why do you even come? What's the point?" The point is, for me anyways, I sill care. DMB is still my favorite band, of all time. It is a site for fans, and I am a fan, it's simple.

oh, i agree with you here. i think the problem lies in the lack of official info from the band. All we know is that the albums release date has now been pushed back several times without any reason given from the band. this, to me, means one of two things: 1, they are not meshing well as a band and are at a creative standstill and are unable to come up with any good material; or 2, they are taking their sweet time developing their new songs because they want this album to be as good as it can possibly be.

i pray, for the sanity of all posters on antsmarching.org, that #2 is what's actually taking place.

This offseason is a new low. People just refuse to stop making shitty threads, most of them about the band breaking up which is not going to happen anytime soon but yet we have to talk about it nonstop. Now were bitching about the bitching by bitching. Makes your head spin sometimes
