Speculate: Where do you foresee the 2008 album ranking?

I know it's a tough question/weird thread, but why the hell not. Everyone has their different opinions on what the album is going to consist of. Some people think the album is going to be a ton of new songs, a lot of people think this is when all of the road tested stuff gets thrown together. Many agree that this album is going to be better than Everyday and Stand Up. Will is surpass Busted Stuff? Any chance in hell it touches the Big 3? Vote for what you personally think is going to make the cut on the album, and discuss away.
Also, to make things a little more clear, I'm not including R2T. Just UTTAD, Crash, BTCS, Everyday, Busted Stuff and Stand Up.

If they continue to make songs the quality of Shotgun, Cornbread, and #27, it will be up there with Busted Stuff and everybody's person #3 of the big 3. A solid 7, maybe even better. I don't think we'll be disappointed with this album. The band knows they need to make something good, and I believe they will come through.

Judging by the most recent songs, especially Shotgun, I think it is clear that Dave is writing better lyrics than he has in a while. He even admits to having been in a creative slump which I think he is coming out of. I think that they are still fully capable of making their best album ever, but this time around I don't think it will happen. Most likely, an album that is on par with Busted Stuff ... which if it weren't for everyone knowing about tLWS is a great album in itself.

This is probably one of the main reasons why I am confident about the next album, they know it needs to be good ... and they are taking their time because of that.

If the album was to come out with no songs we didn't already know, it has a chance at 5, maybe 4. But after that, I'm not really up to speculate. However, Dave's writing practices in the past year are very promising that he may have reverted to his older, better ways.

Well, Busted Stuff sucks because of tLWS. Hard.

I think it could have a chance to get 4. Should be better than SU. I'll vote 5 just because it's a toss up between A) who is better ED/BS and b) will it be better than either.

I say 5, potentially 4.

Obviously there's no way any of us could know this...I went with 4th though. I feel like they have a very strong album coming. Hopefully that's not just wishful thinking.

i can't see it not being better than SU and ED. from what we've heard i'd say there's a good chance it beats BS, so i say 4.

With how they've been playing over the last summer and the style in their new songs, I'd say it would be just above SU, ED, and BS; hopefully at least tied with their 3rd best album.

It is just that their fanbase is so broad now, I don't think you'll see anything that is targeted to the intense part of the fanbase. It's sad, but I think it is probably true. Plus you look at the songs, Cornbread, Eh Hee, Break Free, KTK, they're are not very good.

I think the album has a ceiling of decent - maybe Everyday quality.
I suspect it won't be quite as good as Everyday. So I anticipate

4. Everyday 5. LP7 6. Busted Stuff 7. Stand Up

I feel like Cornbread, #27, A Dream So Real, and Shotgun are better than 90% of the shit from Everyday and Stand Up though, so I think we're in good shape.
