I don't have that one, but 10/15/83 is one of my favorite GD 80's shows.

Re: Official Grateful Dead Thread

The Olympic center (10/17/83) is a fantastic show. Jerry's voice is in it's prime (IMO, nice and crispy). The 16 minute Sugaree really gets that show going. Anyone want it? I have it in VB0, I believe.

Actually, I think I'm gonna grab the FLAC's on this one. I'll upload a 320 kbps in a bit.

I'll have to grab this one. Been trying to listen to more 80's and 90's shows lately. I listened to nothing but 70-80 for far too long. Lots of gems in the 80's.

Yah, I've just been streaming it. I need to grab an external HD at some point this week. Definitely prefer grabbing the lossless copies.

I am grabbing the Hunter's Trix copy, it's a matrix that Hunter Seamons processed (he is a fantastic audiophile that does great things with old dead tapes, if you're not familiar).

Another great show is 5.12.81, the day after Bob Marley died. They dedicated He's Gone, to him. What a fantastic show. I know for a fact I have that show in 320 kbps, if you're interested.

Re: Official Grateful Dead Thread

I was looking at that show last night, looks pretty great.

I got a link to a mediafire folder that has a bulk of the circulating Dead sbds in mp3(can share this is you want), so I don't need a link, thanks though. Just streaming them and bookmarking until my tax returns come in and I can buy a 2tb HD or something. Really wanna grab them in flac/shn.

Wasn't aware of the Hunter Seamons copies. Kind of been out of the loop as far as trading goes for a while now. Just getting back into gear with it.

Re: Official Grateful Dead Thread

Awesome. Thanks. Gonna play that 5-12-81 show as soon as I finish 2-26-77. Been a very Grateful kind of day.

Got any more recommendations from the 80-95 era? Really need to flush that department out in my collection.

These Hunter mixes sound great.

Gotta love the Betty Boards as well.

I love this show. I don't know why it gets overshadowed by the May 77 shows. The setlist has so many gems in it (Terrapin, Prophet, Help>Slipknot>Franklin, Eyes of the World, etc.) and I think Jerry's in top form vocally and playing wise.

I might be biased because Terrapin is my favorite Dead song.

Re: Official Grateful Dead Thread

Definitely an incredible show. Hadn't heard it in years. Used to have a copy on disc but I played those things to death. Second set is 5/5, for sure.

Lots of classic shows from 77 that get overlooked due to May. Really just an incredible year for them. 11/06/77 is a favorite of mine as well.

I really can't get into any dead from the 80's... just haven't gotten there yet the sound is drastically different.

I'd say late 80's sound is pretty different, but early 80's to late 70's sound pretty similar to me, with a few changes (especially the keys).

Yea I'm good with the late 70's-83 or so but then things just start to feel different. I was listening to a show from the 90's on XM and it sounds like a completely different band. Keyboards drowning out everything such a shame.
