Re: How much will it sell?

If it has Cornbread as a lead single (I shutter at the thought), followed by IOY: a lot.

Re: How much will it sell?

Considering we have no clue when it's coming out, what songs will be on there, and whether said songs that will be on there are any good. I don't see why anybody should care.

Re: How much will it sell?

Concidering every DMB album has gone Platinum, you would be retarded to vote anything other than 500,000 +

Re: How much will it sell?

Its going to do 500,000+ imo
They havent released an album in a while, and with Tim Reynolds back on the album it will create a bit more hype, and hopefully better reviews than Stand Up did (imo). The X factor is how good the single is of course.

Tim only creates more hype among the hardcores though. Nobody else knows the difference.

Agreed. The people that this will excite are already buying the album the first week.

I can't remember what I voted

True. Rephrase: Tim's addition may lead to some better reviews. Good reviews of an album will make people want to buy it? My opinion at least. I really think if the band takes its time on this one like they are, they can put out a great album. I'm keeping the faith for now

Re: How much will it sell?

i have noticed that even when big names come out with CD's very few people hear about it until several weeks later. Not too many people that I know semmed to be aware that Coldplay, Jason Mraz, or Counting Crows CD's were out up to a week after they were released.

I think that CD's should be advertised just like movies (well not as frequently). I don't think releasing singles does the trick really...

Re: How much will it sell?

The single makes a big difference. Many people will listen to that single and say hey i sort of like this and buy it on itunes for $10. It's how it all got started....WWYS.

Re: How much will it sell?

I only buy Dave Matthews Band CD's because they are the only ones that actually put a tad more thought into their songs than the mainstream bands. That is why I love my DMB, as amazing as they are, I bet close to 1 mil, it will reawaken the Record Companies! Or actually, I hope they take the Radiohead move, and just go on with a put your price on our music thing, i'll pay at least 20, depending on the month and my money situation!

Re: How much will it sell?

I think between 300-400k first week, but I haven't studied the numbers much lately. I think Taylor Swift is selling like mad (and she deserves to be, Fearless is the best pop album and best country album to come out in a long while, she's a worthy talent despite how it may appear) but I'm not sure anything else is. They could go over 500k but we're in a very, very different time now, even compared to 2005 when Stand Up dropped. There's just a lot less people buying records now. Physical media isn't the force it once was. You certainly can't gauge success on it anymore.

Yes. 98% of purchasers when quizzed on Tim Reynolds: "Tim who?"

Re: How much will it sell?

I think DMB will be able to hit at least 200K. With a solid single, probably 250-350K, and with good reviews/buzz/promo probably 350-450K.

Sales are down a lot...I mean look how U2 did. Do you think DMB can beat U2?

Re: How much will it sell?

Even in todays world, where album sales are down a TON (for example not all of the top ten best selling albums of '08 went platinum which would have been un heard of when Everyday was released), i still think that this cd will go platinum. DMB has an established fan base and has enough casual fans that they will sell. The also appeal to a wide range of ages, making it possible to sell to a lot of younger kids and a ton of adults as well. So my vote is platinum all the way easily.
