Re: The Avett Brothers

I'm listening to the songs from I and Love and You on grooveshark. I've heard good things about these guys, but have never listened to them. Is there a better starting point than IaLaY or is that a good place?

I really got into them by listening to IaLaY, then I got Emotionalism and loved it even more.

and Live, Volume 3 is sounding awesome.

Re: The Avett Brothers

I listened to the NPR broadcast of their show at the Newport Folk Festival in August last night. The screaming made it unbearable to listen to at points. Are they always like that live?

I caught their performance earlier today on Pallidia, great band, very entertaining! I am looking forward to discovering their music.

Here's the link ...

http://www.npr.org/templates/story/s...ryId=128723033

You can hear it in the "I miss it"s in Tin Man, late in Please Pardon Yourself and again early in Color Show. I turned it off at that point.

Re: The Avett Brothers

See them live and if the screaming is still an issue...well maybe they just aren't for you. There's very little screaming in the studio albums, however, if you'd like to give those a run. Like others, I recommend Emotionalism to start.

I don't think it's possible to look at an Avett set and be disappointed.

i wanted to hear The Ballad of Love and Hate... that was my old let down of the whole show. Otherwise, it was incredible. Top 3 concert I have ever been to.
