And Two Face's purpose of getting rid of the mob (a job I think Joker actually did, Two Face just kinda...helped) may be over, but he still has unfinished business with Batman and Gordon.

Firefly = badass, as is Black Mask.

Very true - Batman's fate was to be killed according to Two-Face's coin. You could say that Two-Face was just trying to finish what he started if he were to return.

The Joker, frankly, has served his purpose and would be fairly pointless to bring him back even if Ledger were still alive. Joker helped make Gotham able to hate Batman. You can only spead so much "anarchy." Joker ruined the mob he hated so much, and frankly, he has nothing left to go off of. Except, he fucking HATES Riddler.

But as I said before, Riddler, while a cool villain, is also ungodly pointless. He doesn't want control of Gotham, he just wants to solve puzzles. He's kinda like the doctor in Life is Beautiful, except he probably would have saved Guido.

i'd read before that the initial plan back in the day (before ledger passing) was to have riddler be the villain and have batman make a trip or two to arkham to see the joker to try and figure out how to stop the riddler (think silence of the lambs)... sounded mighty badass to me, but it easily could've been just well thought out fan speculation.

Honestly, I'll be on the Harley Quinn train until Nolan officially announces the villains. I make no dispute over the fact that they would have to stretch her character a bit from the source material, but a more vicious, psychotic version of the ex-doctor from Arkham would fit in perfectly with the idea of inspiring others to escalate the conflict not to mention provide continuity for the other themes and provide a female lead. Poison Ivy would suck.

I'll be interested to see what is done, but I do think it's a mistake thematically to kill off Two Face.

Harley Quinn, literally, is POINTLESS without Joker. Joker is her whole reason for existence.

if it was like poison ivy or something i would be doubtful about it, but with the world that he's created he could somehow make it realistic. i mean hell, with all of the global warming and crap like that all over the news?

i still like the phillip seymour hoffman as the penguin who is a russian arms dealer idea, but i don't think that could pull an entire movie, but could be an excellent part of a bigger storyline.

The problem with Poison Ivy in the Nolan Batman universe is that she is a fanatically misguided idealist; she has a specific and genuine cause for which she fights. Now, that seems like it could work at first glance, but as far as the villains are concerned, the Nolan films begin with those devoted to ideals and have moved steadily toward those devoted to nihilism. The next set of villains need to get more destructive, not more productive.

I like Firefly. Works with the fact that, at least at the beginning presumably, Batman will be presenting the illusion of being a killer.

The more I think about it, I also really like Bane especially considering Ra's Al Ghul calling him something like the most intelligent man in the world.

Any casting rumors at this point are just that. Rumors. The only "sure thing" is Nolan and company are on board to possibly explore a 3rd story in the series. Even that isn't "official" yet. I would say by the end of the summer we'll start to hear some legit announcements on what is really going on with the project. Up until then, anything and everything you read on the net is pure rumor.

Nolan is registered through the union as working on the second sequel of Batman Begins, which is a bit further along than "possibly explore". However, neither of the other co-writers are signed on yet, but I don't think they have to be for a little while longer.

Frankly, I don't think Joker would A, care enough about her (or NOT care) for too long without caring. And B, I don't think he'd keep her alive if she pissed him off anyways. Her inclusion would be pointless as fuck, unless she was just introduced as a minor character and NOT a villain, maybe to possibly be a villain later in a small role.
