Disagree with this. I feel like Time Bomb could have/would have/should have been better than it actually is. Biggest disappointment of the album for me. Not the worst song, but it's definitely the song that didn't live up to it's potential.

It definitely should have turned into a full version of whatever the hell was on all of those studio videos. I like Time Bomb as is, but I'd have preferred something like the studio videos.

I'm not doing the research. but the people who are more or less agreeing with the OP or putting there disagreement as "ehhh, it isn't in my top 5 but still good" were KILLING another OP a few days ago for calling it beautiful.

I have always said Baby Blue is a top song on the album and believe the production we got(with Dave's voice cracking) is better than anything since BTCS, hands all down.

Dave absolutely nailed down the vocals on this track.

I'll take FTWII, just because I like Seven.
Only reason I think Baby Blue is the worst is because it doesnt go anywhere

It has a beautiful chorus, verse, and lyrics. I'm not sure where else a great song needs to go frankly.

It just bores me. It's the only song on BW that I haven't consistently listened to since I got it a few weeks back.

Side note, you and I seem to be disagreeing quite a bit today...hopefully there's no hard feelings

I agree. Could have been so much better I feel. Don't exactly know how but as is, it kind of feels empty.

Squirm and Lying In The Hands of God are the only new tunes that I think have Big 3 qualities.

At the moment my favorites are Baby Blue (by a lot), Monkey, LITHOG, Dive In and Alligator Pie.

Least favorites are FTWII, You and Me, and Spaceman

How bout you?

I agree with the bolded, but Spaceman I really dig. Why is Spaceman one of your least favorites right now?

Re: I can pretty comfortably say that Baby Blue is Big 3 good

The album as a whole is big three good. There are a couple songs I don't love at the moment, but EVERY album has a couple on it I don't like.

I believe that we will see a few things happen in the next year or two.

Those that do not like it will leave hopefully. If you aren't happy with this, then the only thing that will make you happy has already been written and recorded so stay the fuck away from me with your negative I wish it was 2000 talk -- you sound like fat drunks reliving your old glory days on the high school football field.

I think this album will continue to get better live. Is it great now? Yes, but it will improve. BTCS was disliked when it first came out an know fans hail it as their Holy Grail (I happen to think the best album is Crash). As Big Whiskey continues to evolve, it will eventually be placed in with the other 3 as the big 4 -- which is just a lame saying. It is one of their top albums - we all know what those are.

I can only hope that DMB put out another great album before they wrap it up.

Interesting, for some reason I feel like you would hate Dive In based on lyrical content

We disagree on more though, my favorties right now are You and Me and Spaceman

You and Me just dont see eye to eye (u c wut I did there)

i wouldnt compare it to anything on the big 3 since there wasnt a song from those 3 on any of the big 3, this song is like loving wings, #40, butterfly, he just ended up putting this one on an album. great tune.

I kinda liked it at first but now I just find it very grating. It's kind of a catchy chorus, but the "I love the way you move" over and over again just really annoys me. Just a song I don't like I guess.

Yeah, I could see how someone might not like it. I hate the fact that it segues into Cornbread at a show, but I do enjoy the song itself.

I think it is unfair to try and compare this album to any of the Big 3. The bands sound and style has completely evolved and we should now look to Big Whiskey as being the start of a new age big 3 (hopefully we get at least 2 more worthy albums to solidify this )

I don't see why it's unfair to compare it to any pop rock album in existence, from Rubber Soul to Oops I did It Again, frankly.

Re: I can pretty comfortably say that Baby Blue is Big 3 good

i think its a great song, but ive gotta be honest, its my least favorite on the album.. his voice is just not that great, (in the studio version at least)

and its not because i dont like his softer songs.. gravedigger, and stay or leave are to of my favorite dave songs

strange how different peoples opinions are about their favorite songs

I can't really get into Spaceman that much either. I'm not going to say it's bad but it's definitely one of my least favorite tracks on the album.

I don't know if I'd consider Gravedigger a "soft" song but I guess to each his own...

It's obvious that they worked on it and got the song they wanted. This wasn't the case of Cornbread going for the easy teh enregy suckerpunch while putting absolutely no mental energy into the song.

It just isn't to my taste at the end of the day, I guess.

I wish they would have included horns in the studio version of Spaceman. I really like how it sounds live.
