Martin & Co Guitar Factory Tour

So this past Tuesday my girlfriend said that she was taking me somewhere but she wasn't going to tell me where. So we got in the car and two hours later we were at Martin & Co. I own a HD-28V and she knows that I love my guitar. Let me first say that I had a great time and I recommend that anyone who plays guitar should go and see this. They are only open during the week (because this is the only time that the employees are working and building the guitars). We got to walk through and watch the guitars being put together at every stage of the process. Everything from cutting the wood to pearl inlay. Then you get to walk through the museum and see some very incredible guitars (including a Dave Matthews signature model!) Then we went into a room (have to ask permission for them to open it for you) that had a bunch of guitars that you could test out and play.

The whole thing was FREE and it was a great time. Oh, and my girlfriend is really cool to drive my ass from Long Island to PA.

Awesome story! I always drive by there and wonder if I could just knock on the door. Did she have to call ahead and arrange a tour? Was it just the two of you?
