Getting good seats

Ok, so I'm hoping some of you out there can give me some good advice on getting prime seats to some shows for next year's tour. I'm a long time fan but only joined the WH last year and as expected I got terrible seats for every show I ordered for this year. I did some trading up by buying off the boards here but the best seats I got were because I ended up buying off one of the broker sites. I absolutely hate doing that because the prices are exhorbitant and I truly do not want to support the secondary inflated market. I also ended up losing a fair bit on trying to resell my original tickets (always at face + fees or less).

So, my question is how do I go about this in a more cost efficient manner next year? Now that I've tasted the first 10 rows a few times, I don't ever want to go back!!

Anyone willing to share strategies?

Feel free to post here or if you'd rather, feel free to PM me!

Thanks!

Re: Getting good seats

It's a risk, but check with the box office the day of the show.

Often times bands or the venues will set aside a certain number of tickets to give out to friends, family, or business people. If the tickets aren't all used up they will release them the day of the show. This works best for sold out shows.

A friend of mine scored 11th row @ the Gorge for Sunday's show. This amazes me. Never thought it could happen at the Gorge, but did.

Good luck

I've scored amazing seats for the Gorge both times I went. I've had 13th, 16th, & 18th, rows from ticketmaster.

Re: Getting good seats

got section 1 row H through instants this year for raleigh...awesome seats..think i was secong in line...always a risk tho..heard the majority of instants this year werent too good. Also the week leading up to the show there tend to be ticket drops..I scored 100 row G for camden night 2 like 3 days before the show...and as the show gets closers pretty decent pairs pop of on the boards..saw a few pit tickets being sold on the warehouse boards...

Re: Getting good seats

It's looking more and more like the best way to get solid tickets is to get an AMEX card and jump on the presales.

Exactly, you can get great seats when they go on sale if you search for singles. otherwise, suck it up and hope you get lucky. My friend was a first year WH member this year, and got great seats through the WH. 203 x seats 4 5 at alpine, and lower pavilion in the center section at DC.
