I watched a few of the videos of this yesterday and I couldn't get the little bridge/chorus out of my head. This has potential to be a very good tune. Don't mess it up Dave by letting anyone else write part of it.

What I like most about this video is that it shows a little glimpse of the writing process for Dave. He does a lot of controlled fiddling to get certain pieces of a sound structure to fit. The man is a genius

a great little song even though i have no idea what the hell he's saying.. i have a feeling we won't be seeing this for a little while though and if/when we do it will sound very different. but its so so good that he's still continuously writing during a year as insane as 09 was for the band. and this song doesn't remind me at all of any other dmb song -- and that makes me ridiculously excited. he doesn't cease to amaze me.

I heard that 'water' was mentioned as a common theme for some of the new songs that we're hearing, Dave is working on a new movie that he has also written and recorded 8 songs for and on IMDB the movie "Follows an over-achieving science scholar as she solves a bizarre mystery involving the wacky eccentric residents of a remote island where she ultimately discovers unforeseen personal ties to its history". Remote island?? Water? there's the connection

Dave supposedly wrote the songs for that soundtrack 4 or 5 years ago, though. (The movie's been stuck in development hell for a long time, and according to Maynard, it doesn't look like it will ever get made.)
