Yes. They were much better a 3-4 years ago they are getting to the point where they are overrated and overplayed. Their music has really gone away from what they use to be.

Nope. Old stuff is amazing. New Stuff did what it needed to do for them. Aha Shake is one of the best albums I have ever heard.

I think they are overrated in the sense that there are other bands that, to me, do that sound better and don't get the same acclaim. They are a good band though.

Use Somebody and Sex on Fire alone shouldn't be used to judge this band, check out Aha Shake Heartbreak, Youth Young and Manhood or even Because of the Times which is still a pretty damn good album

I voted 'Yes' (for reasons stated above) and Aha Shake and Y&YM are the only 2 KoL albums I own.

I was on the fence with these guys...liked them...even toyed with the idea of spending a good amount of money (they wanted like 50-60 bucks/tkt) to see them live...
I didn't go, and I'm happy I spent my money on The Hold Steady, Warped Tour, DMB and weed instead.

edit: I still dig some of their tunes, but I think they're grossly overrated.

I saw them live once (Lolla 2007) and I thought they were far better than they are on disc. I hadn't listened to much of their stuff before that and the live show really impressed me. Then I went out and bought 'Aha' and 'Y&YM' and was pretty underwhelmed.

KoL is not overrated. grab Aha Shake and Because of the Times. two unreal cd's. they have such a unique background that people do not delve into. it's a shame.
