Are the Kings of Leon overrated?

there was obviously other stuff going on. they have been HUGEEEEEEEEE in Europe for almost their entire career. maybe it's because they were bringing energy and the crowd was giving nothing back? when you pay to see someone, i'd think you pay because you enjoy them.

The U.S. band struggled to win over the audience during their headlining set at Reading Festival in England, which was marred by problems with sound equipment and windy conditions.

Frontman Caleb Followill first lashed out at bored fans by asking, "I thought this was supposed to be the loudest crowd in the world?" before pleading with fans to "help us do this" as they launched into their hit "Sex On Fire".

But when the audience failed to warm to them and sing along, the star raged, "We know you're sick of Kings of Leon. We're f---ing sick of Kings of Leon too. But we get up here every night and I thank God for everything I've had.

"So for all those who don't give a f--k about us, I understand. But we've worked hard to be here. We're the goddamn Kings of Leon, so f--k you."

The furious singer and his brother Jared then smashed their guitars into the stage, before throwing the remains into the crowd and making their way backstage, gesturing rudely to the disappointed crowd.

Drummer Nathan Followill took to his page on Twitter.com after the lackluster set, admitting he hopes the fans at the band's next gig at twin festival Leeds on Sunday will be more responsive.

Followill wrote, "Reading? What the f--k? Zero love for the kings. I know it was cold but holy sh-t, y'all were frozen. I can only hope Leeds is in better form."

Kings of Leon are NOT overrated. They are just "rated" for the wrong reasons. Aha Shake Heartbreak is an unbelievable album.

Poor man's MMJ can't be that bad. I like them, particularly there newest albums. Because Of The Times era KOL. Not a fan of there ratty redneck bullshit sound early on. Flame away..

I also pray that MMJ doesn't go KOL's route, but I think they are just perfectly weird enough and brilliant enough to tip right under the mainstream machine. Which is great for us.

I have AHA and BOTT on vinyl and listen to them a couple times a week each. They still haven't got old.

Not really a fan of BOTT. Youth is miles ahead of that effort, imo, and better than Aha Shake slightly.

As far as them being overrated, Aha and Youth are not. Modern day hugely popular Only By the Night KOL, yeah I think that shit sucks and seeing how many people ate that album up, yeah I guess theyre overrated.

2003/2004 KOL are awesome. 2010 KOL... not so much.

What exactly sucks about there new albums. They were really never that talented at writing songs or playing there instruments, is it the beefed up sound? The catchy vocals?
