Poor cat was hours away from a good home. Now he is back to the land of fleas and worms.

Re: Homeless Man's Stolen Cat Returned

Not for nothing, I don't really find that a heart warming story. If anything, I feel bad for that poor animal. That man is doing that cat a disservice by allowing it to develop sores and fleas. He should have found the cat a home.

Now, I am not completely heartless, and I totally believe in the fact that the man loved the cat. But if he really loved the cat, he wouldn't allow it to be sick and would give it to someone that can properly care for it.

Re: Homeless Man's Stolen Cat Returned

Homeless people in DC not only have iPods, I've seen at least one with one of those auxiliary iPod mini-boomboxes. We have welfare parents going to fertility clinics and becoming an octomom. And now homeless people are keeping pets.

Anyone miss the good ole' days when supposed impoverished people were actually impoverished?

I see homeless people with pets all the time. Is it wrong of me to want to abduct them and take them to a shelter?

That's what I was thinkin' too. It's cruel, they made the cat homeless. They kicked it to the curb. I hope that hobo finds the cat some quality dumpster food.

nah, man did you read it? it says he found the cat when it was stray and had sores and fleas. he cleaned it up and let it stay with him, giving him food. instead of having to fend for itself out in the city where he found him, he's doing his best to give it care as well. it could go to a homeless shelter but it's not like the homeless man is completely neglecting him. he's a step up from being a complete stray at least.

I have mixed feelings on this because while the cat has a loving owner who does his best to take care of her, she is forced to live outside in the elements instead of in a home. I'm glad that the guy got his pet back. Losing a pet can be tough, especially when it means so much to you like this cat does to the homeless guy.

It's a cat, they are animals. They were just like squirrels or raccoons at one point before being domesticated. Living outside is not a punishment to them.

In comparison to other cats who live inside, it could be viewed as "punishment". I'm not saying that cats should not live outside. Shit, I have like 10 strays in my neighborhood alone. All I'm saying is that it could be viewed as unfair to the cat.

I do not agree at all with this. If they are born domesticated and turned into the wild, different story, but a cat born outside can be viewed as poor living standards for a life is absurd to me. They've been around for 9,500 years without being inside, and on top of that I haven't been around to many cats that don't try to get outside.

Re: Homeless Man's Stolen Cat Returned

Well the man is letting the cat have all sorts of fleas and sores. The cat would be better off living in someone's home. I would feel bad for the man; but at the same time, why should he be hurting the animal that he loves.

Re: Homeless Man's Stolen Cat Returned

Didn't read story until just now, and I have to change my stance on this particular issue. The problem here is he is trying to domesticate the cat outside, huge difference than a cat being wild. Therefore not fair to cat.
