I need help!!!

Ok I have a lot of questions and hopefully someone more experienced than myself can help me out. First I just received my first show in SHN format of 7/21/02 hershey. I used mkw audio extractor to convert the files. They then ended up as winamp files, but I thought I was supposed to convert them to wav files. In addition I downloaded EAC but Im not sure what to do with it? I really want to keep my discs clean and good quality to continue trading them. ANy help would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks,
Ryan

well first off welcome and thanks for asking for help! they are winamp files because winamp plays .wav files. If you go in to File Option in window explorer you can make windows display the .*** of every file. So just use your favorite buring program to burn the .wav files. Make sure to do it DAO (Disk at once). this leaves no break between tracks. Most burning programs have this option right before burning the cd. As for EAC that extracts audio off a cd in the most accurate manner possible. you would use that to trade audio cds. extract the audio with EAC then burn with nero or easy cd creator. any other questions AIM me

To add to this I would make sure to keep the SHN disc. This way when you want to trade that 7.21.2 show you can extract the SHN disc to .wav and burn to Audio. That way everytime you trade the show you will be ensuring that you are spreading the best possible quality of your show. Plus if you ever scatch the copy you are burning to audio for yourself you can always burn yourself a brand new clean copy

peace!

yeah like Donald said thanks for asking and you seem to have a decent bit of knowledge so far

i would search on google.com for SHN AND MD5 FAQ and the first result it turns up is something you want to read. I cant post the link since i am posting from another computer. Feel free to email me though with any questions: dmband_fan1@yahoo.com

I used the mkw tool last night and the files didn't become wav files, they were win amp files with this type of filename "dmb2002-07-21.sms2002.minime.d01t01" when i tried to burn this to a cdr, it was still and md5 file?

Thanks,
Ryan
