It's the whole package for me. The band is really tight, the setlist contains alot of my favourite tunes, has no sucky songs and it's a great mix of DMB songs from R2T up to tLWS. The set is also slowly going towards an great climax from Nancies to Rapunzel. After that anything is possible (IBYU, Busted Stuff, Recently, Raven). Then there's the awesome mix (Stefan!!) and Roi was facemelting good that evening.

LT16 is awesome too and I think it's my number two LT. I love the songs with Dan Myers and the Jimi and SUAD from that show are awesome. To me LT3 sounds smoother.

When broken down to unique songs I really think the average song quality of LT3 is alot higher. Sure LT16 has #41, Warehouse, Typical, Crush and Two Step. But it also has Little Thing (partial), Too Much (closer) and Song That Jane Likes. I mean I love those songs, but just not as much as any of the LT3 songs...

I just think the band was on fire in St. Louis that night. From start to finish, opening with an epic Two Step that people are talking about on this thread and others (I think a video just surfaced of it...), Crush with absolutely ridiculous dueling solos by Roi and Tim, Pay For What You Get --> Recently --> Water/Wine (all not played in years before that show, and Water/Wine was absent since '96), Cornbread before it was overplayed, Rhyme and Reason that was awesome, and the best mix of YMDT I have heard on any live album put out by the band.

The Two Step, Crush, and YMDT were going to be my top songs, but LT1 Last Stop is incredible, and I figured if I can pick 3 top contenders off of an album, it must be one of the better albums. Just my opinion, though.

Also, the Two Step on LT 7 with Bela was incredible. Not too long (like I personally think the recent ones can get after seeing it a few times over the summer/fall), and the Bela solo is wild.

I only own Live Trax 6, which is obviously not even close to being the best one, but it was available on iTunes. I want to further my LT collection but not sure which one to get next? Seems popular opinion is 3, 8, 7, 13, 16 and 2. Which one to get first?! Help!

It's an impossible question to answer. You just gotta look at the setlists and decide what show appeals to you. You also have to figure out which DMB you prefer...the raw vintage sound of the 90's or the harder sound since 2008. I love every stage of their career but you might have a preference.


There are just too many great choices....other than a couple they're all pretty awesome.

So awesome, so much energy, Rashawn and Leroi dueling at the end. Incredible.

wow it's been a while since i saw this thread - my views have changed WILDLY! can't believe i said 2006 was my favourite year... i would say 2008 now. and i haven't listened to LT 6 in aaaages. i reckon it's LT 8, or 15 that is my favourite album now.
