Re: Mumford & Sons

I just grabbed a couple of tickets to see them at The Moore in Seattle. Gonna make a weekend out of it. I love this band.

That review is ridiclous.

Great band. They're quite big over here in Oz, awesome music to chill to. Love Winter Winds.

Go Mumford and Sons!!

Re: Mumford & Sons

^ I first heard of them, listening to Triple J.

As for the pfork review, they are either spot on or way off, more so the latter. One of the main aspects about listening to music is the joy it brings to me, and these guys rock. Pitchfork seems to forget that and makes it seem like you need a Masters degree in order to know what good music is. Sometimes they need to be told to fuck off.

Awesome band.

Them and the Avetts are really re-energizing the modern folk rock genre.

holy crap. looks like their fall us tour is sold out and they even had to upgrade a few venues due to such a high demand. looks like i hopped on the wagon just a little too late.

They are playing near me, in Vancouver, but I can't get tickets. Their two biggest markets are Perth Australia, and Vancouver Canada.

I liked them, but listening to the podcast from Bonnaroo got me hooked. Seeing them in October (Ogden Theater, Denver) and can't wait.

I was shocked that their show here sold out over a weekend. They have just kind of blown up and they had all these shows booked at smaller clubs right before that happened. It's rare when that happens and it's good for both the artist and the fan.

Ya. It sold out here in about an hour. Pretty crazy.

Re: Mumford & Sons

Not sure if people know this but the lead singer is dating Laura Marling, a british singer/songwriter. Her new album "I Speak Because I Can" is not only pretty good, but her backing band is Mumford & Sons. So if you wanna hear more, that kinda counts hah.

Didn't they do some joint record with her? There's clips of them playing together on their YouTube page, but it didn't make it seem like it was from Marling's album.

They probably do stuff together all the time, but her album is the only collaboration I'm aware of. They might have done/be doing something else, though, since her album was so critically acclaimed.
