Re: Weightlifting

Well, I'll be out for a couple weeks or so. Gotta get some oral surgery next Monday to remove 3 teeth. Right now the whole bottom left side of my mouth is in pain, and I doubt there's any way I could do a decent workout without clamping down on my teeth somewhat.

Then the next week will be mostly spent recovering from the surgery, which should only take about 4 or 5 days.

I got to get one extracted next week but it shouldn't hinder my workouts. It was either a root canal or get it pulled. Can't wait to pay for the crowns and double bridge!

I've cut down to 1,200 calories/day for two weeks. This is where the oxyElite comes in handy.

I envy you. My wisdom tooth is pressing against a nerve, and I've got an intense pain throbbing through my mouth. I can't use that side of the mouth at all, and can barely chew. I'll have to be on a soft diet for the next week or so due to the pain I'm in.

I also grind my teeth at night, and so I can't get a decent night of sleep in. I woke up 7 times last because of it, whether because of the pain waking me up, or the pain preventing me from getting to sleep.

Dude, I've been there. There is no pain like nerve tooth pain. I had a similar problem like that 10 years ago and the pain was unbearable and it spread all the way down to my arm. Hang in there. Once they pull them the pain will be instantly gone and the resulting pain from the surgery will be cake compared to what you're feeling now.

Oh man, you ain't kidding. I thought H1N1 was a bad one, but this may actually be worse. I can barely function by nighttime. I'm about to go to bed now, but imagine it's going to be another rough night.

But I'm going to try to not complain (too much) about it. Just look forward to getting the surgery done, and actually have some Ambien should it get too unbearable at night. Just 6 more days...

Re: Weightlifting

No e-stats here weightlifting Ants but I've achieved new PRs on flat barbell bench for 2 consecutive weeks...during a cut no less. Something about the warmer weather must make me want to annihilate everything (except pizza). Under 6 weeks til Memorial Day!

Re: Weightlifting

What's everybody's workout look like on your 'cut' phases? And what supplements (if any) do you take to help out?

Kind of along the same lines, a friend at the gym yesterday was asking me about any products like hydroxycut or similar items. I've only tried one, a long time ago, can't even remember the name and I remember I was in the bathroom like 30 minutes after taking it every time, so needless to say i dropped that quick (literally).

My cutting phase, which started yesterday, starts with reducing my caloric intake to 1,200 (non lift days) to 1,500 (lift/run days) calories. Those calories only include fruit, vegetables, almond milk, coconut milk, greek yogurt, salad (olive oil/vinegar dressing) and turkey. I also increase my cardio and my workouts change to lower weight and high reps.

I also use OxyElite to curb my appetite and give me the energy I normally get from foods to sustain my workouts.

I don't use any supplements with the exception of a BCAA intra-workout drink and Superpump 250 as a pre-workout drink.

This works for me...

Tried hydroxycut a few years ago but I was afflicted by the same "side effects" you mention lol. Last year I tried my first EC stack and currently halfway through my second. Aside from being a lot cheaper than burners, it definitely works as an appetite suppressant in addition to the thermogenic effects.

I'm also on my 3rd week of Layne Norton's updated power hypertrophy routine here: http://www.simplyshredded.com/mega-f...ated-2011.html. I'd been using the same workout template for a while and just switching the splits but this is a pretty radical change that so far has been enjoyable.

Re: Weightlifting

I don't really do the whole cutting or bulking phases. I'm not trying to get huge, so there's not much point for me. I just stick to a lean diet, protein powders and cardio mixed in with lifting.

Re: Weightlifting

I just finished my first bottle of OxyElite Pro, the large bottle I believe 180 capsules. I put in a good 1.5 - 2 hour lift followed by a minimum of 30 minutes cardio, at least 4 days a week, max of 6. I break my lifts up into Push, Pull, Legs; broken in 3 2 week stages. first stage is a low weight high rep (12-10 reps) 2nd is mid weight mid reps (8-6) 3rd stage is high weight low reps (4-2) Followed by a super circuit, or at least I think that is what it's called.

I have not really watched my caloric intake, mainly because I knew I was burning more than I was taking in, especially with the OxyElite. What I did try and monitor was my serving size. I was eating 1-2 gigantic meals a day, now I try to snack more throughout the day, with a balanced meal for supper after my workout. Which reminds me, I was also taking a Multi Vitamin, and calcium (I hate Milk) tablet each day as well.

I started working out monday 1-4 at 333 pounds. As of yesterday I weighed in at 284. I've only gained in my lifts as well. For example on 2-21 I could only do 2 reps of 260, last week I put up 5 sets of 4 reps at 305. Might be worth noting that I could have had a minor injury in my shoulder, I think I over did it when I jumped into my routine to start.

I'd definitely recommend the OxyElite to anyone trying to cut down, it most certainly helped cut my appetite and give me a bit more energy in the gym. It is also some very powerful shit, I wouldn't take caffeine or any other kind of stimulants well on it. If you are willing to put the time in this shit works wonders.

Edit: I'm probably going to lay off the supplements for a month, ideally I'm going to try and drop to about 250-260, then I'd like to put more muscle onto my frame, my goal is to be about 270-275 with a BW% under 10. Anyone here try the Jack3d? I've heard that works pretty well.

those numbers seem really low, but if it works for you then all good... and milk, yogurt and turkey are your only protein sources?

To the regular posters here may think I sound like a broken record, but when I first tried Jack3d I really liked it, but I couldn't get used to the skin burning sensation it caused. While it only lasted about 20 minutes or so, I just didn't feel like dealing with it anymore. There's a chemical in Jack3d, not sure the name of it, but others here do, that causes this sensation that your skin is on fire - at least that's how it felt for me. But some users don't experience this at all. But there are many accounts of people who do.

Another reason I don't like it is because I built up a tolerance fairly quickly to it and it wasn't a sustained energy, rather it only lasted about an hour.

I've replaced Jack3d with SuperPump 250 and am very happy I did. Much better product in my opinion.

Yep, I get about over 100 grams of protein with this diet. I'm cool with that.
I like it and it works for me. We all have different goals/body types, and right now, this is what I want to do since I fucked up my last bulking period.

yah, I probably should have backread. I have a few friends on the stuff who say they have that sensation too, though they described it as more of an itch. They swear by it, but also don't put nearly the same amount of time or effort in at the gym. I've watched them plateau as of late. I have never really taken any supplements besides the OxyElite and Hydroxy cut, so I'm open for suggestions.

I'm going to start training in MMA starting next month. I could never make it down to 205, my advantage in wrestling always came from being an athletic big man, but my "ripped" weight is probably around 250. I tried bulking up, or basically getting fat, to gain some mass, but lost my license and sort of let my weight get out of control, hence the 333 lol. So just trying to get to a solid 265-280.

Well my weight is back to normal-ish after last week. I think I kind of freaked out after it was so high. Anyways I started taking Creatine pre and protein post workout and feel pretty good. Now if I can just cut out the beer I'll be set

I can safely say I haven't had the burning skin effects from Jackd that some others had, and I think it's just how our bodies react differently.

On that note, I'm currently using White Flood, and while I feel the boost and my workouts are pretty solid, I'm seeing I have a noticeable fall off after I get home (around 6:30-7). Like I'm ready to crash/sleep for awhile if I could, something I haven't had with Jackd, NO Explode and whatever else I've tried.

Both. Do some high-intensity cardio and full-body weight workouts. Throw those in with a healthy diet and you're good to go.

Anyone here into biking? Thinking about buying a Trek for this summer to get into it, but I'm not sure yet.

I'd recommend both, put a good lift in, then do a minimum of 30 min cardio. That way you are burning your calories during the lift, when you move to cardio your body will use your stored fat for energy.

I've been wanting to buy a "nice bike" for quite some time, just haven't had the funds to do it.

Same. Might save up for a bit longer and get the Trek 1.1 which I hear is a pretty solid entry level road bike.

sounds like the same diet I'm on... getting between 100-130g of protein but about 1600-1800 calories a day...like I said in a previous post... I'm not sure how I feel about it, but I'll try it at the advice of a trainer...

I was 180 in December. Last time I weighed myself I was 159.4 lbs, but that was after a 5.5 mile run. My weight usually hovers around 163 - 164.
