Anybody heard about this one? It was brought to my attention in an article on The AV Club, and I downloaded it a few weeks ago, but only tonight actually sat down and watched it.
For those who haven't heard of it, it's a DVD of a
Radiohead show on the European festival leg of their In Rainbows Tour, taped last year by a few audience members in Prague. That in and of itself wouldn't be that cool or unheard of, but what makes it awesome is that upon hearing that the show had an audience film, the band freakin'
gave the mastered soundboard recording of the show to the fans that filmed it so the DVD could have the best possible sound.
Say what you want to about
Radiohead's music, and I really don't mean for this thread to turn into whether or not it's any good, but that is freakin' cool. Between the "pay what you want" release of
In Rainbows and this (as well as their taper-friendly policy), they've got to be one of the most fan-friendly major acts around.
As for the DVD, I've seen better (it is an audience recording, after all), but it's brought way up by the band's master tapes, and if you didn't attend a show on this tour, it's a pretty impressive stage setup they put together.
If you're interested, the tape's available in about 5,000 formats here:
