Mobile games are fun and all, but I kind of don't get it. You can generally (well, potentially) develop a much better game using PS3/360 software, etc as opposed to Android.

I'll write more when I'm not on my phone, but what you wrote is where it'll start, yes. But the real reason people have ponied up money for it, is the idea of an open source unit in your living room. It has the power to, graphically, be abou Playstation 2.5, so you'll see better looking games once development starts. But being completely open, on one level, as soon as I get it, I basically have every SNES/PS1/PS2/N64 etc game ever, because someone will have an emulator available day 1. But if you look at the Android marketplace, people still pay money for quality games, even when it's easy to get them for free.
As long as the install base is sizeable, this is going to be insanely well supported by the community. Hopefully it reaches that level.
