PNC Park is a beautiful stadium, but terrible for concerts. I was in the outfield for the DMB show and I had a good time (other than being short and unable to see over people) but I've been to other shows in the stands and it's not that great. Sound tends to echo and the crowd never gets into it. I really hope it's at Starlake this year.

The only other show I can compare it to was Wrigley N2, so if anyone else made the trek, they would probably agree, that there was a world of difference between the PNC Crowd and the Wrigley Crowd, last show of the summer notwithstanding

I had GA tix and was about 20-30 ft back from the stage in front of Jeff that night and the people around me were definitely into it. However, the feel of the overall crowd seemed to be lacking. From the tapes there is barely any crowd noise and the Jimi verses are pretty quiet. Furthermore, after the crowd was so quiet during Jimi, Dave himself sang the "People in ever direction" line.

I was at Wrigley N2 in the upper deck and it felt like the crowd seemed to be into it much more. The crowd on the tapes (not the live release) is REALLY loud.

Btw, MSundberg, were you in line at PNC outside of the centerfield gate with Parkmandrill?

July 13-14 dates have been confirmed for Starlake. My 'friend' stated that the paperwork is officially done, so its set. Also included that tour dates would be announced "later" in february, no specific date.

Its finally nice to have a set of shows mid-summer, instead of the early imo.

EDIT: Just realized I made myself look like an idiot. I meant to say that the crowd was so quiet during Jimi that Dave sang that line during Ants. Probably because he thought the crowd either wouldn't do it or not do it loud enough.

I was at PNC and both Wrigley shows. Agree that Wrigley was a better crowd, but I think Wrigley was more of a destination show for a lot of hardcore fans as PNC was more of a local/regional trek with a higher % of casual fans in attendance.

Ive been to Bennett Acres one time and was in the campsite area...but i was just on their site and read that they have cabins sa well? Has anyone stayed in these cabins by chance? If so, what are they all about...would i be better just laying on the grass in a tent or are they liveable for 2 nights? Also, what are the prices on the cabins? Or even the campsites as well if u can.

This will be my first time hitting up the shows in Burgettstown/Pitt. What fun stuff is there to do over the weekend for a couple in their mid 20s in Pitt? I already checked and the Pirates are on the road that weekend which is a bummer. Any ideas?

There is always checking out both Hines Ward and Jerome Bettis's bars that are located on the east side, i believe. When they played PNC, i was walking to catch the ferry back across the rivers and ended up taking the wrong turn and passing Jerome Bettis's bar. And there is always the casino that is there as well.

Bettis' place is on the North Side between Heinz Field and PNC Park.

Hine's place was on the South Side on Carson Street but it went out of business a while ago. The bar is still there but it's not associated with him anymore.

Star Lake is about 20 miles outside of the city. But if you are staying Downtown, hit up Station Square or Carson Street between 10th and the Birmingham Bridge (just ask for directions to the South Side). Plently of cool spots to hang out. My favorite for beer and food is Fathead's.

I always thought Fathead's was overrated and overpriced. If you want good food go to Mike and Tony's. If you wanna drink and have a good time go to Casey's or Mario's (that's if you in the Southside). Hofbrahaus is always a good time as well.

Star Lake is no doubt a better atmosphere than what i saw at PNC park...the set was above average @ PNC but nothing is like DMB at star lake, great venue, less casual fans, and of course an extra night (usually)...can't wait for the official announcment

I'm not sure I agree with Fathead's being overpriced with the size of the sandwhiches you get, but to each their own.

probably be there both nights. PNC was fun in 2010, but parking/walking to the stadium was a pain....we got out pretty fast though after walking a mile+ to our cars.
