can't speak for all the tapers, but i know rockinman is usually right where he was this weekend. he has been there at least 2 other years I've seen. I sat next to him in 2008. I said hello to him on saturday. nice guy.

I also think generally, the center of the pavilion/ theatre/ arena is the sweet spot for sound.

IMHO

from a tape perspective, I've found that my highest quality shows are closest to one of the stacks...

but, the taper needs quality equipment, and the band needs to be mixed well.

Your formula was definitely NOT poorly formulated. Generally speaking, as an audience member at a show you'll be treated to the best sound if you're right next to the sound engineer. But once you introduce the whole process of recording with mics and then playing back on different speakers later, all bets are off for one particular setup always being the best.

never thought id see the day id be at a show that not only this creek was blown away by....but is being considered that widely great by so many people.... truly awesome

Too bad my sound for my videos are bad as hell. But he did an AWESOME job putting great sound with some of my video. It's a great thing to share the music with the fans. I look back at some of videos from past years and the memories from the night come back to me.

Nice videos brother. I've been trying for pit tickets now for a few years maybe I'll get lucky and get them one of these days. But still didn't like being on the lawn for night 2, even though did have a good time but didn't get to capture and videos. But next year I won't be greedy and just request pavilion seats for night 2 instead of pit tickets.

His are just a bit crisper and clearer, whereas Rockin's are a lil muffled sounding.

Hard to wait another 2 months to see them again. Plus it will only be one night.

Can't wait to see a few of his upcoming shows and see how they compare to DC's this year. One truly amazing weekend was had, hard to think another could possibly top it.

There is something to be said about "flow" to a show, and that should be considered with N2 and it's awesome rating... The song choice, and when they played them, was perfect for a show that was not your "fantay setlist"... That show deserves that 4.88 rating or whatever it is... Idk if it's my favorite show out of the 26 or whatever I've seen, but it's top 3 and the majority of my friends with me this weekend have also seen right around 20+ shows and they were saying hands down the best they've seen... I think we're on our way to a Live Trax for Deer Creek and if anyone has an issue with this show, especially if they haven't listened to the tapes, they need to get their head checked... IMO of course

I agree. We were discussing it being live trax worthy this weekend. The flow was perfect, the crowd was amazing, the intensity of the band was out of this world. I've only seen a few people complain about what was not played, and it troubles me a bit. I know there are songs everyone wants or is chasing, but when the songs that are played are done so well, and with such intensity, why would you complain about one song not getting played. Seems pointless, enjoy what you got, cause what you got was damn good.

Greetings Creek.

I don't post much in here, but I couldn't help but say something about this past weekend. Saturday night was my 27th show and by far the best I've seen. I have followed this band since '98, saw my first show in '00. I couldn't believe how in tune they were, how tight the transitions were, outside of the flub on the beginning of Pig. The run of YNK, Seek Up, TSTJL, and Pig, wow just wow. Then to Nancies into Warehouse, I didn't think they would do it. I was a happy, happy man, except for when the broski, meathead, frat boy bumped into me at the end of Jimi Thing, I thought shit was going to get real.

On a lighter note, I finally got my fiance to start going to shows with me. N2 at the Creek was her second show, the first being N3 at Lakeside last summer. I told her last night, as we were getting ready to go to Monday Night Raw, that she's been extremely spoiled so far in regards to Dave shows. Ironically enough, her third show will be N2 at WPB in a few weeks.

We are on a pretty good roll.

Thanks DMB for another awesome show and even better memories.
