Il see you in 401. Past 3 years, I ended up getting 300's. They are far away but you will still be able to see. The only positive to darien is the small incline seats with a really high stage.

All that really matters (to me at least) is seats under the shell. DMB brings the monsoon.

DMB fan from Poland, travelling all the way from Europe to the US for the first time this summer, mostly (but not only) for the DMB summer tour. I'm looking for any tips on how to get from New York City to Darien Lake.
Renting a car is one option – anything else that you could recommend?
Since it's quite far, I'll have to stay the night – are there any decent hotels/hostels/mostels etc. around Darien Lake?

Your best bet would be to rent a car.

Darien Lake is kinda out in the middle of nowhere. I believe there is a hotel on the property but probably booked at this point. I'd check out Batavia, NY and if not there then somewhere in Rochester or Buffalo.

I am soooo upset that they decided to come to Darien during 4th of July week. .....This is the first home show I will ever miss, since first seeing them at the Ralph ' 00 ......hopefully it wont rain for you guys.

NYC is about a 7-8 hour drive to Darien. They have a hotel and amusement park (godarienlake.com) where they will be performing. Also, they do have a campground where you can pitch a tent and camp, if you are the outdoors type. Check out hotels in Pembroke, NY. I hope this helps. Safe travels...

It ALWAYS rains at Darien. And when it doesn't, the bathrooms overflow. Rubber boots are a requirement no matter what.

That's the truth! I always feel bad for the folks sitting in the 500's where the water pours off the tent and right into the seats. You pay the extra for reserved and then have to deal with that! I keep hoping they will play a show at CMAC, but I don't think that will ever happen.

In 2010 I refused to go, then decided last minute that I would. Bought a last row under the roof ticket in the lot for way less than face. Ended up just hanging behind the seats in the aisle in front of the lawns with a few others in the rain.

The down-pour started and a gentlemanly crew member looked over and said, "Are you getting wet"? Dead-pan and without a beat I replied, "Nah, not close enough".

Those that were there still laugh about that to this day.

Gotta love the Milli Vanilli interpolation that night.

I was in the 300's that night. I remember turning around at one point and it looked like I was looking through a waterfall. Seriouisly though, with all the money they've put into that park the past few years, can't they do anything with that tent?

I've been trying to get an idea of where the tent ends so I know if I should try to find closer seats. I remember it being somewhere in the mid 400s, which is what WH gave me, but am not positive.

7-8 hours is high. With no stops you can easily make it in under 6 hours.

They ripped off the tent. Could be a seasonal thing, meaning they would put the same one back on, but he're to hoping they put a new one up.

Even Dave commented on how leaky it was, the one year.
