Re: Warehouse 5v11 / Warehouse 8v8 - Tracklist

They told us last year what our gift was going to be. Why is it a secret this year? Does that mean we won't find out until we open the package? If so, I can't handle that...

Re: Warehouse 5v11 / Warehouse 8v8 - Tracklist

im going to throw out a very long shot, but who knows.....

in that video on FB, rashawn said they're already doing final takes for the instruments and that he was done with all his parts in one day. that seems to be REALLY quick to me, like they spent virtually zero time in the studio with lillywhite actually writing songs. could they be recording unreleased songs that haven't been on albums (shotgun, sugar will, break free, etc) for a b-side disk that could be the "secret gift"? its not like it would take them all that long to get all that stuff done for the songs. they already have them written and know their parts (for the most part), and they'd only be doing a handful of them.

again, high hopes/pipe dream, but you never know

DUDE. this is a winning comment. spoot for the win. this is it. THIS IS SO MONEY. i bet you this is what is happening. i can't believe nobody has thought of this yet, but it very well makes sense. stefan has been in washington but it seems like he isn't in the studio that much based on his twitter posts. other signs have pointed toward the band being in washington, but oddly not all being together at once very much, from what i have picked up on.

think about this...the band has been toying with and unearthing several unreleased songs in the past 2 years on tour more than they have in previous years. it isn't unrealistic to think that they were messing around with them to record them on an album this spring. also, the timing for this next "album" works well for a quick recording rather than a big writing session again.

spoot called it on 2/7/12. u heard it here first.

A long shot is an understatement, but this does make some sense. I think i get so delirious reading the boards anything sounds plausible.

Re: Warehouse 5v11 / Warehouse 8v8 - Tracklist

Thrilled by this announcement. I keep a series of unreleased tracks on my iTunes. My highlights over the years. The Gas Into Fire jam, the Old Dirt Hill Fake -> Why I Am number, the original Gravedigger, and the Everyday Fake -> Halloween -> Water Into Wine (from Va. Beach the next night) are frequently sounding off from my speakers. Thrilled to see these are coming out as official tracks now!

Re: Warehouse 5v11 / Warehouse 8v8 - Tracklist

Anyone else think they put sister on every single warehouse/bonus disc just because they think its funny to fuck with us. This song has been around for 6 years and has more releases than most 20 year old songs... And it blows. They laugh their asses off everytime they add it to a tracklist

It was sloppy. The next show it was done much better but the spontaneous moment is what made that one. It's like the Red Rocks one imo. Cool they busted it out but it wasn't one of the best. Still a nice touch for the disk.

Other than Sister this is a good disc.

Remember guys, last year was the only year they've ever told us the "surprise" gift, and it just so happened that that gift was eons better than any other year in the history of the Warehouse (see light-up pen, coasters, etc.). I really wouldn't put too much thought into what the "surprise" will be.

I could see the b-side disc as a general possibility, but certainly not in the Warehouse package. This band has never been huge on giving us free stuff, especially when the item at hand costs TONS of money in studio fees. The free LT last year was great, but I wouldn't start to expect it on a regular or even irregular basis.

Before you go bagging on Sister, this is an especially beautiful version, probably the best ever, so give it a shot, hater.

I really liked that pen.

The mouse pad would have been nice, but it sucked with my mouse. I liked the deck of cards.

Yeah, they're always fun and goofy little things.

I still think it's hilarious that they gave out a lenticular mouse pad when most people had long switched over to using mice with laser eyes, rather than the ball.

Re: Warehouse 5v11 / Warehouse 8v8 - Tracklist

Went to go listen to the gas into fire song (I remebmer it barely from when I went there) and ended up listening to that whole concert from 6/17/04...damn it was a good one! Roi was on FIRE! The band had a lot of energy that show, and I was thinking why? I guess it was because it was the first show of the summer tour, and IF I remember correctly, it was the first show that Dave played with the band after playing with Dave and Friends.
