Yup you do. Plus there are no Irvine tix's avail on instants. Just keep on eye on the boards as we get closer to the show tix will be popping up. That's what I'm relying on to get my tix.

Just figured out a way to fly out for this show from CO! Was able to arrange a training class for work in Bakersfield the Monday after, so I'll be staying near the venue Sat night then driving to Bakersfield on Sunday.

Any suggestions on where to stay thats somewhat close to the show, but also close to places to party afterwards? I'm flying into OC on Sat and getting a rental car. Never partied in Cali before so I'm pumped that I get to see DMB and hang out in Cali.

Bottom line for tailgating at Irvine... be smart and don't give the cops any reason to stop. This means no glass, only plastic cups. No open flames, bring already cooked or prepared food. The closest place to pre-game is the Irvine Spectrum across the freeway. It is a pretty good walk, plus fairly expensive and crowded.

Upside of the Spectrum, great meeting place if people want to save on parking and carpool in to the venue. You can park anywhere, since there is no time limits. Target is a great place since there is ton of parking at that end.

Have a great time at a great venue. Sound is great, enjoy the show and don't be surprised if people around you sit for most of the show.

Picked up some instant lawn tickets yesterday. I was starting to get nervous I was going to have to overpay for this show. First time on the lawn at this venue, but it will be nice just to be in the building. Can't wait for September!

This is also my home venue. It will be coming to an end soon as that part of Irvine is going to become more housing (the water park next door has already been closed). They are building "The Great Park" on the old marine base and it is suppose to get a venue eventually. Who knows when though. Not much has been built in the past 10 years so far there. As for getting there, traffic is not too bad but there is a small exit off of thr 405 that gets crowded for shows. Better off taking the 5 FWY there if you can.

Pre-show, not much to do. Like WhoDat mentioned, the Irvine Spectrum is not too far away but it is a hike. They have Yardhouse and a few other bars/places to eat. Police presence can be hit and miss. Just use plastic cups and don't act like an a** and they will leave you alone. And if given the option, pay for premium parking. Won't help so much in the beginning, but will save you a ton of time when trying to leave. Getting out of that place is a nightmare!!

Lastly, there is a long hike from the parking lot to the venue. Be prepared. Also, the tip about food/bathrooms on the left is true. Most of the options are on the right (if you are looking at the stage). This is where 90% of the people go since you pass through it on the way to your seats. Stick to the bathrooms/beer/food stations to the left.

I second all of this.

Plastic cups are a MUST and cops are constantly roaming around.

I would emphasize for this venue: head in early. I was still walking in as the lights went down once when I had started to enter an hour before the band was supposed to go on. Basically, if the opener has started playing, that is your cue to pack it up and head in. Why? Because there is ONE entrance and they make you form a single-file line for like a mile to approach it. Then you have to walk about half a mile and climb up a couple of stories to get in. This venue is the longest time to get in I've ever encountered. Better too early than miss a crazy opening song.
