The Hershey family of hotels offers shuttles to/from I believe, but those hotels are pretty pricey. Like someone else said, the campground has a shuttle and is also within walking distance. Not much further past the campground is a hilton garden inn, a holiday inn express and a comfort inn. Those wouldn't exactly be easy to walk to, but if you are walking to the campground, holiday inn isn't too much farther down the road. There is a Days Inn in the town of Hershey too that probably isn't too bad of a walk.

Been to every Hershey show since 1996 that they have played. Very happy he is coming back. Agree with everyone about the arrests it's a field day for the police when they have concerts. Often a hundred if not more people being arrested.

It's usually 200-300. 2010 was a low for arrests.

Anyone have an inkling what the seating will be like? GA Pit with regular GA behind it a la 2010, or more like 2009 and prior with reserved up front and GA behind?

I'm not getting grandstand seats. They suck.

GA Pit looked like a mess 2 years ago. I was so happy watching all the madness down there from up in the grandstands.

the seating chart on LiveNation has all reserved like it was in '09... I bet that's just an oversight though.

Only problem I had with GA Pit last year was there was a good bit of open space between GA Pit and regular GA. I was in regular GA, and the space they allotted for Pit didn't fill up because everyone in Pit was all crammed together. I was in the front row of regular GA and had probably a good 50 feet of space in front of me beyond the fence. Really hoping for Reserved.

Id be flabbergasted if they did reserved. Pleasently surprised, but im not counting on it.

2010 was a shitshow in up front reserved. I almost got kicked out during the opener because some fuckhead decided to take a piss near my feet. I pushed him down and was about to deck him (i was a bit tipsy; not usually that guy) but my friends jumped in between and security threw his ass out.

That said, ill be up front again if i have to.

i just buy GA tickets, then i go to the bottom of the grandstand on either side, walk all the way down to the front and rail it...its perfect

the only time ive ever ran into trouble not getting down to the front area was when i went to the Wells Fargo Center concert in November 2010... other than that, you just sneak up..

according to the warehouse the set up will be exactly like it was in 2010. front GA pit and a rear GA. hate it ill be getting reserved

I'm not a fan of the huge GA section in the front. I think this will be one of the few years I skip Hershey.

really, I liked it in 2010, got a great spot...however it was my first time at Hershey so I really don't know what it was like before that. I did think it was weird that there was a ga1 & ga2

This. I remember being front row for regular GA, and there was a good bit of space that was reserved for GA Pit, but because of the cramming to the front the space was completely empty. Just a few drunk people taking a breather on the ground.

A few pointers for Hershey first timers:

- everyone says the venue is the worst..... and while it's certainly not the best the setlists are very good, and the venue attracts plenty of good people.
- the cops, however, are pretty much the worst. Hershey likes to maintain it's 'family friendly' image, and so the cops come out in full force. can cozys, solo cups, and no visible half-assery and you'll be fine.
- park close to the venue. they fill the lots from farthest to closest, so if you get there at 3 or 4 you'll still have a good spot.
- avoid Hersheypark Drive at all costs.
- come to my tailgate. I've done it in the lot next to the venue, and across the street in the grass. don't know what I'll be doing this year, but the more the merrier. there are always good good times to be had in Hershey

Also Troegs Brewing just opened up their new brewery just down the street from the venue. It's well worth it to go there before the tailgate. They've got a fantastic tasting room/beer garden and their beer is great.

I am so thoroughly confused. The front GA and rear GA are two different prices. I'm still not 100% sure (even after reading this thread) if there are reserved seats in the GA. Jones Beach, for example, says GA STANDING, where Hershey says GA FIELD FRONT. Can someone please just let me know if this front GA is seats or not? Thanks.

The field is all GA. It's just split in to two halves, the front being "Reserved" while the back is not.

There are no seats on the field.

Called Warehouse to confirm. I was told anything that says GA is standing only. I know that to be the case, but I was just confused that Jones Beach said "Standing Pit" and Hershey said "GA Front Field." She said that she was sending a message to ticketing, so all of the GA language would be uniform.

I think the difference in wording is based on the venue. Jones Beach if I'm not mistaken is more of a true amphitheater with an actual "Pit". Because Hershey is just a football stadium with a stage on one end, there's no true pit so they separate the football field into a front and back. In previous years, the "front" was reserved (with seats) and the back was GA, much like a lawn at any other amphitheater. Starting in 2010, they made the front all GA as well, so there's just a fence that separates the two sections.

yeah the tickets close to the stage used to be seats, but in 2010 it was just all GA standing. higher price for the front half of the stadium floor and lower price for halfway back.

i'm fine with it, no one sits down anyway.

The reserved seats this venue had pre-2010 were great, if you waited in line the day of the public sale in March you usually could get up-close. I miss that

I agree, I used to just call in to the actual box office right when they went on sale and I got within the first 5 rows for 4 years running....then, 2010....

I didn't mind freezing my ass off in March to get my tickets at the box office (which gave me assurance that I would have a physical seat and not have to stand the day of). I did the whole 2010 GA Front and it was frustrating as hell be crammed with pissed off people, and after Bader Field last year for the caravan I just don't want to do it.
