Doing the Florida Run for the first time this year. Have been to both venues but not in the same year. Booked La Quinta - stayed there last year and it was perfect... just a quick walk across the 4 (or was it 6) lane street to get there... and a not as quick, slightly stumbly and blurry trip back. Haha! And who needs a poncho??? Just don't wear white! Or do wear it and see how many free beers you can get from the vendors!

Fuck a poncho, get seats or pit & you won't be rained on. 2010 was rain free.

I beg to differ on 2010 being rain free... well, unless you mean it's because you were in the seats/pit. I've got pics where I looked like a drowned rat due to the pretty impressive thunder and lightening storm that came up right before the opener.

Nothing spectacular, honestly But the shows are often surprisingly good. It's right up along I-4, and there are these walls put up because of noise complaints. The show's sort of a "warm up" for WPB for a lot of fans. There's a tailgating crowd, but not the all-day tailgate, because it's a Wednesday, and we know we have some heavy days ahead in WPB...

I wish we could petition the area for an 11:30 sound ordnance as opposed to the super strick 11 o clock. And yes bring ponchos and more for tailgating. Will be needed.

I really don't remember... I was in the pit, so we lined up at the gate early, ended up behind the rail riders & caught Gov't Mule... I remember it being beautiful & sunshine-y.

Any meet ups before or after the show?

Not sure on that but I can tell you in 2010 I walked in roughly 20 minutes before they went on and was the equivalent of like 15ish row and not overly crowded

Gonna tape... got reserved thru WH... probably won't try for better Tampa seats on LN because I'll be busy going for SPAC N2 (not taping... just trying to get tix inside). I typically wind up in the back of section 4 or 7 with my WH tix... so that works out halfway decently. I think I wound up with worse seats for some reason in 2010 & did some buying/selling to upgrade. We'll see what happens this year. I think I'm the only taper so far...

We met briefly last year - I was right behind the pit and we talking about maybe swapping seats if it would have helped your cause (I'm Gary B's buddy Jason).

If it turns out you're the only taper I should be able to help you out. Pretty sure I'll have similar seats and my GF picked up a couple pit tix so we have options. Lots of time between now and then but will help if you're stuck in the back and the only guy w/ a rig....

Thanks again for taping - Tampa is one that's been close to slipping through the cracks a couple times. Paul C. saved a few years.....but haven't heard his name in a long while....
