<<<Shoreline 2012>>>

I'm thinking about making the trip out to see Shoreline unless Red Rocks or something else interesting pops up.

I've heard a little about Shoreline but not much and it looks like a beautiful venue so I would love to check it out!

The only question I have is if the show sels out and how quickly? I don't want to request tickets through the Warehouse if I'm not for sure going.

If I end up not going at least I started a thread for whoevers going!

Reserved will likely sell out, while lawn possibly not. Reserved tickets are usually not difficult to get rid of if you can't make the show, but you might not be as lucky with lawn, although if they are Warehouse section lawn, they will have a much better chance of selling.

The tailgate situation at Shoreline Sucks, and I was shocked when I saw that first hand several years ago. Not sure if it's any better now, but if you're going for the full hanging out experience, it's nowhere near as good as other places. I hope Irvine is not uptight this year, especially since it's a Saturday night show, so there should be lots of people hanging out in the lot getting ready for the show.

Ok cool. Thanks for letting me know.

I wouldn't be going for the whole hanging out experience just kind of want to visit San Francisco. Never been there and I thought that would be a better place to visit then San Diego, and I've heard Shoreline is a better Ampitheater than Irvine or Chula so that kind of swayed my decision as well.

Re: <<<Shoreline 2012>>>

Shoreline is a pretty decent venue, except the parking lot situation as the other poster mentioned. Sound there is usually very good, especially the warehouse lawn area. The front center of the lawn, and the rear center of the reserved seats have incredibly clean, well mixed sound. Lots to do within a 60 min drive, not just SF but in the hills and towns around the area. Traffic on the roads that lead to the venue can be very heavy on weekends, so dont plan on a 45 mile drive taking 45 mins. If you spend the day in SF you want to leave early for the venue. Shoreline is my "home venue" I suppose, and its a really good place to see a show. Dissapointed that there is only one night!

Yeah a couple nights would be nice! I'll have to check out things to do then. Planning on getting there Friday and coming home Monday if we do go. Won't be a ton of time to spend there but will be a nice little getaway.

This is the last stop. \m/

This is my "home" show, so I will definitely be there. Gonna try to do the whole California swing that weekend.

Re: <<<Shoreline 2012>>>

Damn Sunday show and no Sac show, lame sauce....now that I'm old and mature and have a real job I can't hang with the Sunday shows....seems odd that with an album, or whatever you want to call it, there's only 1 Bay Area show.....Was hoping for another Concord show, oh well....

Shoreline always gets great shows for the most part, so I'll just have to Monday off....

Saw you're going to Alpine and Shoreline too! That's my plan as of right now.

What other venues are in North Cal? I'd imagine there are some pretty nice one's other than Shoreline.

Greek Theater at Berkeley is a great place to see a show. Its my favorite venue in the bay area, and the 3 night stand in 2008 was the best concert experience I've ever had. N3 was really magical and emotional.

Concord Pavillion is decent, lots of seats and a small lawn. And concord had a really nice little mid-week set in 2010, of course I proposed to my, now, wife before that show so they could have played a two hour Cornbread with no encore and it would have been a good show. And for the record I like Cornbread, jsut not for two hours.

Those are the two big venues. Lots of nice small to midsize venues, Warfield, Fillmore, Paramount, Fox Theater.

I forgot the Greek was in the Bay Area. Would have loved to go there this year. And would have loved to see a D&T show at Warfield. Either way Shoreline will still be a great place to see DMB!

Nate! Will you be at Shoreline? We were thinking of roadtripping down after the Gorge. This is an outdoor venue right?

Yeah Shoreline is an outdoor venue. That would be a beautiful roadtrip down the coast!

I am for sure going to Shoreline as long as no other concerts are announced after the fact that we would like to go to. If Red Rocks is announced we would go to that instead but other than that it would take a pretty special place to deter us from Shoreline.

This is fun replying to each other in 2 different threads!

We are not going to Gorge this year. Our plan is SPAC next year and Gorge in 2014 if we are lucky enough to still have them touring that long. We were gonna do SPAC this year but we went to Mexico in June and ca't afford 2 long trips like that and have that much time away from the kids when they're that young.

Lol, it is pretty fun.

Yeah... I was already told to tone down the DMB this year cause we've had a couple big trips and we have some spendy things to do with the house. Hopefully next year and the year after.

Hey just cuz you're married now doesn't mean he can boss you around!

Yeah we have to watch how much we spend too but Danielle knows I need to plan my DMB shows! Alpine plus one other short trip is really all we can do if another trip is mixed in during the year. And if we didn't have her frequent flyer miles I don't know if we would be making somewhere other than Alpine this year.

Well see, he tells me every year that I shouldn't do much DMB, but then I still end up getting to go to 6 or 7 shows, hehe.

I'm glad you guys are still getting to go - I was worried that kids in a year or so would put a damper on my DMB summers, but you guys seem to be able to go a little here and there still

Oh definitely. My moms a teacher so her shedule is flexible in the summer so that helps. We defintely can't go to 6 or 7 but 3 to 5 is always a good possibility! Like next year we'll take a week long vacation in New York and then probably do Alpine again. All the kids will be at least a year and a half and thats when they are the most fun so no one will complain about babysitting.

Yup, going to Alpine for the first time this year! Other venues- are mentioned- Greek in Berekely is incredible. They have played Sleep Train and Raley Field in Sacramento, they are just ok. Also played Concord back in 2010 I think. What shows you hitting this season?

Nice. My mom works for the school too and has summers off. And Matt's not the biggest fan so maybe he can stay home with the kids while I go to shows

We should try to meet up at Alpine (and maybe Shoreline if I make it!)

Now you're thinking Jess!

The lots are a perfect place to meet up! We'll have a big group of people and the more the merrier. Would be cool to see another Minnesotan in Cali too!

Sidebar question... I thought Shoreline didn't have a 'pit' area. Why then, on the Warehouse preorder, does it list pit/GA? I'm not paying $250 for pit/GA... just asking.

I'm sure that's just the generic clause they have for all premier tickets. If there's no pit at the venue then the premier ticket would be for reserved.

Hi guys -- we are considering the VIP package for the Shoreline 2012 show. Does anyone know if the reserved tickets that come with the VIP package are *better* than the reserved tickets otherwise available through Warehouse? Thanks!

Hello to my former home venue. I'm really bummed that I won't be able to make it this year. But, I still have created a contact list and included information on my website about Shoreline. Please let me know if y'all come up with tailgating plans or anything I could add or change on the site. Have fun. www.toupstown.com.

thinking of going solo to this show. warehouse member since 2000. hoping to win the lottery and be within the first 4 rows. Last time I was there was 2003 and loved the vibe and Dave definitely enjoys the Bay area.
