are you camping in Hershey or doing a hotel there as well? We stayed at the High Meadow Camp ground in 2010...there was a free bus to the venue and was also within walking distance...

the venue is a pretty standard pavilion. its a good venue though. camden is not a good place to be though. the pavilion is located on the waterfront, which is the touristy area, so you'll be safe there, but you do NOT want to venture away from there. camden is a hell hole.

the cherry hill, nj area is a good place to go for a hotel if you want something close to the venue thats relatively cheap. its like 5-10 minutes away from the venue. it has standard hotels like holiday inn and days inn. if you plan on going into philly during the day before the 2nd show, it might be worth it to get a hotel on the philly side of the river. it'll take a good 60-90 minutes to cross the bridge into philly if you do it during the day. at night it'll take 5 minutes.

I agree with most of this however Cherry Hill is totally going to up the prices on hotels as well as Philly. I posted a hotel back on the 1st page that's in West Deptford, there are also some in Deptford. In my opinion I would stay at one of them, they will be way cheaper and they are basically the same distance about 15 mins from the venue. I'm just not big on spending tons of money to stay in the "touristy" areas.

Living in the DC/Northern VA area and think we are going to check out Camden for the first time this year. Some of the hotel and transportation info in the thread so far is helpful. What is tailgating like here?

Re: ~* Camden 2012 *~

In my opinion tailgating here is great....but I haven't been to too many other venues. It's sure better than Hershey
Never had a problem with cops either, we walk down the streets finishing our beers on the way in and never had a problem...

I'm in for both nights but kinda bummed about the 2 ticket limit for the pavillion seating. It has always been 4 in the past I'm pretty sure.

I thought it was 4 in the past as well.....oh well, as I've stated before, I much rather be on the lawn anyway where I can be free to dance and smoke doobies

weird. i stayed in cherry hill like 3 times and i dont think i ever payed more than $90 for a room, which is standard pricing.

ya, you definitely don't want to go more than like a half mile from the waterfront without being inside a vehicle with locked doors and raised windows. i've gotten lost a couple times coming out of concerts and found myself in very sketchy areas. i've gone through red lights because i didn't want to sit there and wait for it to turn green.

the waterfront area is fairly nice though. the NJ state aquarium is right up the street from the pavilion. its not that big, but its a nice way to spend a couple of hours if you don't have anything else to do.

You def do not want to wander around to far from the venue. I have been going for 10 years and have never had a problem getting to and from. Used to drive, but now take transit. As far as hotels go, not familiar with the jersey side, and not much cheap in philly

i think the holiday inn might have been like $115, but i know the days inn i stayed at a couple years ago was like $85, and i didn't even book that room until the day before the show and they only had like 4 rooms left. the hotels around there are definitely within normal room prices.

Re: ~* Camden 2012 *~

I went to a concert here last summer (Blink-182) and I instantly loved this venue. We were on the railing of the lawn which turned out to be fantastic, the whole time after that I just thought about how cool it would be to see Dave there. Very cool experience being there.

p.s. it was fucking hell getting into the lots, all the cops seemed to have there head inserted into the furthest crevice of there ass.

Nothin to worry about. The lots and the areas around the arena are fine. You just don't want to wander far away from the water front. I usually park in the Camden Riversharks' parking lot. It's a bit of a further walk than the lot right across from the venue, but I've had an easier time getting in and out of that lot and the walk is along the water front and populated. Never had any problems walking or tailgating in the parking lot.

Around the venue is just like any other venue and it gets some of the best shows. Nothing to worry about. Just check out Philly before and after.

Bingo. Tailgaiting for Camden shows can be whatever you want it to be. The closer you are to the campbells field lots the crazier it will be. 2 years ago we noticed cops on the roofs with binoculars checking out the scene. Probably radioing down to ground patrol for questionable activities.
