The Official Guess when the album will be released thread

I'm going with July 17th and here's why:

Fact- album is said to be released in the summer
Fact- for the last two albums they have had album release parties in NYC and even rescheduled the last one when the album wasn't ready. One can assume they'd do it again (as they can promote the album in NYC better than anywhere else). So one needs to think they'll be close to NY on the days leading to the album release date.
Fact- albums are released on Tuesday's.
Fact- they have no NYC shows as of now. Tis a shame!
Fact- they have a show on Saturday, July 14 in Pennsylvania and don't have another show until four days later in Tampa on Wednesday, July 18. This would give them the opportunity to head to NYC, promote the album on Monday, have an album release party in NYC on Tuesday and fly to Florida for Wednesday's show.

Or I'm wrong and they'll release it sometime in August. I just want to be able to say "I told you so" if I'm right. What says you?

Yes, it was scheduled for April (the date of the MSG show) and eventually released June 2 (the date of the Beacon show).

I'm going to say the 1st week of May.

Just a guess, but I feel like the break in the tour is not for promotion. They took a break in 2010 almost the same way, and it was just so touring is easier.

Everything and everyone, including Jake, have said that the album is coming a LOT faster than we expect. So, while most people are saying July or August, I'm gonna say it precedes the summer tour.

Wantagh is the only one even close to NYC, and Long Island hardly counts haha. Darien is closer to Canada than New York City, at least I think.

I say it comes out in August. Either that or sometime in the very beginning of the tour.

Album is scrapped... Dave goes into the studio with Cee lo Green next winter. 'Every other Day' is released Feb 2013.... The much better 'lillywhite sessions 2' is leaked shortly thereafter.

Thats about how I figure it will go down.

1.) They JUST officially confirmed that they are indeed working on an album.

2.) There has been very, very little promotion besides Fonz and Lillywhite's twitter pages... not to mention no studio leaks or anything of that sort.

I think May is too soon. In the world of over planning and promote the life out of something, two months doesn't seem to be enough to me

I'm going to say May/June, remember that the press release (from Rolling Stone? I can't remember offhand) said info on how to order the album would be available soon. No one offers a pre-order for something more than 2 or so months away, as a general rule.

Not to be that guy, but Amazon began offering the 50th Anniversary James Bond Blu-Ray set on January 10th for pre-order. No official release date has been announced yet, but some in the Bond community think that it may not be out at least until the Skyfall teaser hits theaters, presumably in June.

Yea I know there are some exceptions to this rule, Amazon has a pre-order for an album by The Wallflowers, which has been up for years with no official date. But all in all, I feel like these situations are definitely in the minority.

May, and i think you can book that. just an opinion. nothing later than June though, especially in the world we live in with leaks, you cant sit on an album that long, no way.
