Re: Top 5 concerts you've attended (any artist, including DMB)
I was actually thinking about this the other night after Phish N3 in AC was one of the greatest shows I've ever seen. So here's my top five:
Billy Joel - March 7, 2006 - Wachovia Center, Philadelphia, PA
This was the first time I saw Joel live so it will always hold a special place in my heart. Joel is the reason I love music so much to begin with. It was a typical greatest hits show but Joel was funny, joking about him balding, about the people in the cheap seats (me) and making fun of the people who paid way too much to see him in the front couple of rows.
Roger Waters performs "The Wall" - November 11, 2010 - Wachovia Center, Philadelphia, PA
This was an experience I'll never forget as a concert goer. The whole theatrical make up of "The Wall" (and the fact it being one of my favorite classic rock albums) was such a special thing to witness. I cried a couple times throughout the show. Waters' message was true with how cyclical the world is, especially how he modernized "The Wall" to relate it today.
Dave Matthews Band - June 26, 2011 - Bader Field, Atlantic City, NJ
This was my latest DMB concert and I don't think it will ever be topped. My favorite band in my hometown playing one of the best DMB concerts in the last five years. They played classics, they played them well and the Ants tease -> Halloween -> Ants was one of the best segues I have ever seen at their shows.
Phish - June 17, 2012 - Bader Field, Atlantic City, NJ
I've only seen Phish three times and this show was by far the most fun. From the epic barricade created with DMBZilla, his wife and a bunch of other people so we don't get pushed around to the actual set list, it was the most fun I had at a show in recent memory. Never have I danced my ass off so much at a show. The fact it was in my hometown again made it cool.
Paul McCartney - September 28, 2002 - Boardwalk Hall, Atlantic City, NJ
This was the first major concert I ever attended and of course like any Beatles fan this show was special. It was McCartney's first trip in AC since being a Beatle. Played all his standards, had a blast. He promised he'd be back but 10 years later there hasn't even been a rumor of a return. Oh well, it was still a blast.
Honorable Mentions
Bruce Springsteen - March 29, 2012 - Philly
AC/DC - November 17, 2008 - Philly
DMB - June 23, 2006 - Hershey, PA
Metallica - November 15, 2009 - MSG, New York
Foo Fighters - February 21, 2008 - Philly
