Should I go to Hershey?

hey can't decide to go or not

i did scranton, spac n2 (yea i got fucked), and both camden shows next week

cant decide on hershey

its close and easy but the venue sucks balls

would you go?

I would go. Being from Minnesota I love it when I get a chance to go to a show and then come home and sleep in my own bed. Regardless of the venue. I'm sure you've had the chance plenty of times on the east coast but I wouldn't pass it up.

If you will enjoy yourself, and you have the funds and time to do so, than yes.

If you cannot afford it, do not have the time, or will not enjoy yourself, do not go.

IMO. If you have the desire, funds and time ..... Go. Worst case scenario you have a great time. I made a last minute Hershey trip in 2008. Worked out well.

If you are local, Hershey seems to play a pretty decent set every year. Check it out, its worth it

I have been to Hershey for 6-7 years in a row (except last year) and it has been pretty excellent every time. And I usually only get GA tickets and still manage to have a great time. I think if you are more concerned with having fun then go ahead. If you want a great venue with perfect sight lines probably not the best place to go.

for some reason, the band always plays pretty decent sets, with the exception of 2005 and 2009. every other year has been pretty great! hershey '08 still has the best encore I've ever seen:

Liked 05, LOVED 09. Not sure what you didn't like about it.

I guess if you hate new albums and don't want to hear a lot of new stuff. Thought it was a great mix of new stuff, plus a bunch of classics like Proudest Monkey, 41, Watchtower, Jimi, Crash, Seek Up, Satellite.

i went to hershey when i was 19 in 2009 and got cited for underage drinking, despite the fact that we were drinking beer out of wendys cups and we had a dd. fuck that place.

edit: oh, and the show sucked. cool poster though.

I'm going for the first time this year! Looking forward to it. Hershey usually gets awesome posters too, I hope they do a nice one this year. I've heard the sound can be so so sometimes, but I like to see each venue and determine myself. If you have the money and want to do it, I say you should deff go.

I really wan't to go but I'd have to drive 5 hrs there, see the show, decide if I want to drive another 5 hrs back or sleep in my car somewhere, make it home, go to a friends party for an hour or so, then drive 3 hrs to bethel, see the show, then decide if I should sleep somewhere or drive home another 3 hrs, get home and sleep for 12 hrs. So I guess I'll just cut hershey and in the process cut 10 hrs of driving.. But if I didn't need to be home the next day I could just stay somewhere then drive to bethel.. maybe I'll just skip my friends party.. haha. That won't happen.

So to answer OP's question, yes.. I was seriously considering ^ for a while.. but decided against it.

If you're going to hear something unique or a certain song, you're not going to get it most likely. If you just want to see them as many times as possible then go ahead and go.

I picked Hershey over Camden this year because i'm tired of Camden. It's not a fun place to drive to, it's not a great place to tailgate anymore, it's not that great of a venue so i'd rather go somewhere else. I've been to 25 shows, did the whole 6 shows in the summer plenty of times. Did SPAC for many years, been to Hershey once. Couldn't go to SPAC this year so Hershey was the next best thing. Not that the venue is any good but i like driving away and staying somewhere and making a weekend out of it instead of just going to a show and going home. So even though the venue isn't the best, i'm going to Hershey and i can't wait.

I did the same. I actually hate Hershey as a musical venue, but it's just so much easier in terms of traffic and it doesn't feel like a ridiculous ocean of annoying people.

But mostly, I only have one friend nearby who would go with me, and he hates Camden... so I didn't exactly have a choice.
