I think Ants, LIOG and #41 (in that order) are the best things the band does. Ants is about as perfect as music gets. LIOG is about as perfect as DMB gets when mixing accessibility with jam-ability. #41 is about as great as DMB jams. Though I'd put Two Step right behind #41 in the jam department objectively.

so then you would have an average 2001 two step that nobody talks about, just like all the other two steps from 2001.
Do you even make sense to yourself? First you said the music had nothing to do with the song and it was the weather. Then you totally ignore that and make a blanket statement of all 2001 Two Step's are average. Way to back up your opinion.

I do not think that word memes what you think it memes.

^that's a triple word score, bitches - a word correction within a meme reference within a Princess Bride quote. Boom goes the dynamite.

But seriously, you mean subjectively.

No, actually I mean objectively, as in I could actually present a thorough academic argument to back up what I'm saying that would hold water if presented to a panel of music scholars.

If Two Step is a better musical platform to jam off of than #41, then...

(Let's just keep it simple and completely non-technical for a second.)

Why do more guests join in on #41 than Two Step?

Why are there more traditional solos taken by a variety of instrumentalists in the context of any given performance of #41?

I could go into the deeper musical elements academically if you'd like, but if you want to busy yourself trying to be amusing rather than critically thinking about how the two musical compositions really serve and function in an improvisational environment, you probably have been too busy to study and appreciate music theory, composition and form and analysis.

just stop. You honestly think there is an absolute truth out there as far as which song is a better jam? Or that the number of times a song has had a guest soloist indicates how great a jam platform it is instead of how easy it is to prepare someone to solo over on short (typically less than a day) notice or whether they plan to play an interpolation that dovetails with the DMB song they're playing (in the case of BF&FT)?

By all means, go academic on me and post your "objective" findings - I could use a good laugh today.
