Personally, the songs/albums I like best are the ones I need to listen to a couple of times to "get it." This is one of those albums...much like Some Devil took me a couple of times to listen to before it became my favorite DM/DMB album

I liked Broken Things and Sweet, as well as Belly Belly Full. Mercy, to me, is still an un-enjoyable song; nothing about it is particularly intriguing. Gaucho's music still interests me, but the lyrics make me cringe a good bit. I haven't cared for any of the other songs they've played live, BBN, If Only, and The Riff, and I still don't care for them. I'm a bit puzzled as to why people are going crazy over Drunken Soldier. Granted, it was one listen, but I really didn't like it. It was as if it was trying to have some type of Mexican flair to it, but it really never grabbed a hold of me; and the outro is hardly ear-catching. I don't get the hype about it. Snow Outside and Rooftop both have cool opening riffs, I don't care for their verses or chorus too much.
Several of the songs feel like they drag on. Dave says "baby," "leave me/stay with me," "you and me" a ton... Like, a whole lot. Enough that seemingly each song I thought, "Really Dave, again?" I'm just not feeling much DMB magic.

I'm liking it on first impression. Drunken Soldier is awesome, and it's nice to hear more Boyd. Hearing bits of Light Lift Me Up in Snow Outside was a nice surprise. No problems playing this album over and over again

I'm really enjoying this. I had somewhat high expectations for this album based on what we've heard thus far, and they more or less have been met.
Happy to see Boyd's back on the studio, Carter's Carter, the horns (while I love anything with horns involved) aren't over used, and Tim is right where he should be. Sounds like a Lillywhite produced DMB album to me. Too early to call out any specific tracks as stand outs or just mehh tracks, but I'm liking what I've heard so far.
