I liked Broken Things and Sweet, as well as Belly Belly Full. Mercy, to me, is still an un-enjoyable song; nothing about it is particularly intriguing. Gaucho's music still interests me, but the lyrics make me cringe a good bit. I haven't cared for any of the other songs they've played live, BBN, If Only, and The Riff, and I still don't care for them. I'm a bit puzzled as to why people are going crazy over Drunken Soldier. Granted, it was one listen, but I really didn't like it. It was as if it was trying to have some type of Mexican flair to it, but it really never grabbed a hold of me; and the outro is hardly ear-catching. I don't get the hype about it. Snow Outside and Rooftop both have cool opening riffs, I don't care for their verses or chorus too much.
Several of the songs feel like they drag on. Dave says "baby," "leave me/stay with me," "you and me" a ton... Like, a whole lot. Enough that seemingly each song I thought, "Really Dave, again?"
I'm just not feeling much DMB magic.
