Re: Live Trax 23 and 24 Announced!!

These look pretty awesome. I wanted a band show, but if they're going to release D&T instead, these are good ones to release.

Was hoping for a full band show, but i was just listening to D&T live at Luther College and thinking I wish they would release some other early Dave and Time shows.

I could be wrong, but I believe it's something like this:

    - Live Trax is for shows of which they have access to a full multitrack recording and can mix it for that release.

    - DMBLive is for shows where the only recording is already mixed.

    - Stand-alone releases are almost always sold in stores.

For me, this will depend on the mix. Radio City's was horrible. Las Vegas' was better, but nothing has come close to Live at Luther. They really nailed that mix.

Thats cool. 99 is a better year for Dave and Tim, but we already have a lot of really good recordings. I will listen to these.

Hopefully their sound at the time has something to do with it....96-99 their sound was just so better IMO, Dave & Tim wise

Yeah, I just hope they don't get the same guy who mixed Radio City. That post you replied to was my 500th comment, so maybe we'll get lucky.

This release is about a million times better than if they released a 2012 show.

I havent delved too deeply into the "No Butch" conspiracy, but would BT have to authorize any release containing him?

    This.

We all know that if we didnt get these two shows we would most likely get sub par 2012 show (probably the St. Paul show) and a disc of 24 versions of Sister. Ill take two DT shows.

yeah, the LT series is much better sound quality than DMBLive.

This is like getting another Live at Luther College x2. I'm shocked people are complaining, but I guess that's how it always is.

I couldn't believe it when I saw it. If this isn't catering to the hardcore fans I don't know what is.

These are both excellent shows - just missed my personal favorite D&T show (02-06-97), but the whole tour was full of awesome. Very excited for these even though I've heard them many times.

I agree whole heartedly. I couldn't figure out how that Radio City mix made it to release. Vegas did sound great, but still (as you said) nothing like L@LC.

No Butch shows? Is this a discussion I'm coming into late, because quite a few LT releases have Butch on them?

I personally am STOKED for these shows to be released.
