Who wrote The Maker?

Just wondering, who originally wrote the song The Maker. I heard Dave mention it at the Boone show, but i forget the name. If ya know that'd be great. Thanks.

He's from Montreal, Quebec. He's a french Canadian. And if you had any brains in the world, you'd figure out that Lanois is a french name, and that's why the spelling is as such. His 1st name is pronounced 'Danielle', by the way.

They're making fun of the way Dave explained it...they're not making fun of the name, or anything French related for that matter....Don't you have anything DMB related to say?
