Dell and Nero?????

I just recently bought a Dell computer and it came with the Roxio Easy CD Creator 5 software. I've been having a lot of trouble with Roxio, so I was told by a lot of people to try Nero. So, I went and bought Nero. . .and for some reason it isn't working with my computer.

Is there a computer guru out there that is familiar with Nero and/or with Dells. . .that can help me before I call technical support? I'd rather pull out all of my toenails one by one than call freaking technical support. Anyway. . .the problem seems to be the image recorder. I don't think it can read my burner for some reason. I'm not sure. I uninstalled Roxio to see if that was the problem, but it didn't work either.

I'm sure I'm going to have to end up calling technical support, but I thought I'd see if anyone knew of anything I could try. I know a lot of you use Nero.

I hope I can Nero to work because that is $75 I can't get back.

Thanks!

Michelle,
Hey there. I just recently got a Dell computer and had that same problem that you are having. I just downloaded the newest Nero from the internet and it works fine for me now. It would not find my burner for some reason just like the problem you were having. Just download Nero from the internet and it will work fine for you. I can hook you up with a seriel number so that you can have full access to the program instead of the demo. If you have any questions, you know where to find me. Talk to you soon.

Thanks for the information. However, my friend and I had just figured out that piece of information before I read your post. Thanks a lot though. I downloaded the updated version on the website, so now everything is working just fine. Thank goodness. I was about to pull my hair out. Anyway, thanks again.

I definitely agree with everyone that Roxio sucks and Nero is the the best.

Nero rocks!

I am still trying to figure out how to make stomps. I'm not planning on using them. . .but I still wanted to figure out how to make one.

Thanks a lot!

Hmm. . .I'm glad I wasn't alone on any of this.

I know this is unrelated to "Taping and Trading," but I don't know where to post this question.

To those of you who have Dells, did you have any problems with your printers? I have a HP 722C Deskjet that I bought in 1998. I installed it to my new compute. . .a Dell. . .and it prints just fine. However, it prints in reverse order. So, if a document is 2 pages, then it prints the second one first and then the first one second. I went into "Print Setup" and looked under "properties" and then "Page order." Front to Back was already selected. . .so I tried "Back to Front." Both options print the pages out of order. My printer didn't do this on my old computer.

Does anyone have any idea how to fix this problem? It's driving me crazy. All the pages still print, but I don't want it printing in reverse order.

Thanks.

dell and printers

I too just purchased a new Dell, and I can't get my HP printer to work. I can only print the first two lines of page two. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Yeah, I can't get my printer to print the pages in the regular order. If anyone can help me out, then please let me know. I tried e-mailing customer service today, but my freaking printer isn't even listed on the printers to choose from. How messed up is that? It says 600 series then 800 series. It skips right over 700 series!!!!!!! I have a 722C. Crazy! I guess I'll have to call them.

If anyone has any help, then let me know.

Merci!

Holy crud. Not that it does any good now, but I could have given you a legal copy for free...or an illegal one, your choice.

Perhaps the illegal copies are the reason it costs that much now, though.

That just seems so WRONG though! You can buy a brand new Lite-On burner for $40-50, and they come with a copy of Nero in the package! What the hell? Circuit City is ripping people off.
