Finally!! Haha I'll hopefully be there. I mean we all know that it is small, my parents went to two buffet concerts there and they really had a good time. I'm excited!!

Cheers

Make sure you get seats. You should be able to get pretty good seats. Since this is a new venue, the fan base for it may be somewhat less than other venues. DC crowds probably prefer Nissan, and there is Hershey to the north. Have fun in Columbia, MD on a weekday night. I would if I was going to be living in MD at that time.

hehe. I always have bad timing with these things. Just when I move away, a few weeks later DMB finally plays a show a few minutes from where I leave.

Yes! Not exactly the worlds best venue - hell I'd probably even say Hershey has a better place to play in, but I can't pass on something thats walking distance from my house!

The place holds only 18,000 people, and according to a good source DMB has 11,000 of the tickets. They have also reserved for the fan club the ENTIRE pavilion, all 5,000 seats worth. I know its gonna be a great time, and even if its not I can just walk back home :-)

even if it is true, i cannot imagine that 11000 warehouse member requested tickets, i mean hell look at this thread, rather small at anyrate if this is the real deal, consider me looking for pavilion seats! (hey look on the bright side, broakers can't legally sell em at all now)

I could be wrong, but its a pretty direct and accurate piece of information. Thats not to say that Warehouse won't have any left over to give back to ticketmaster after ticketing is complete.

i think im excited for this show the most out of hershey (which is 15 mins from my house) and VA beach only because the venue is smaller. i got official charges for the reserved seating so i am happy

Re: Official Merriweather Post Pavilion, Columbia, MD Thread

I was somewhat surprised to see DMB slated to place at Merriweather, when Nissan is so close and the usual stop. It's interesting to hear that tickets for pavillion seats are reserved and very well could be true. Merriweather hasn't been churning out good shows recently because of competing venues. They've seen their day and I would think DMB would have a little more influence if they were to play there.

Re: Official Merriweather Post Pavilion, Columbia, MD Thread

i saw buffet there...it is a pretty old venue ( if i am thinking of the dame place). I remeber seeing signs all around as to who has played there and how many times and all. The sound seemed good although i was in the last row before the lawn.

I got the shaft from WH, with lawn seats, if anyone has a set of pavilion confirmed that they can't use I'd be glad to take them off of your hands.

Totally stoked that DMB is playing Merriweather. Supposedly, Merriweather will be torn down in the very near future, so this was a nice surprise.

For those not familar with Merriweather it is essentially a smaller version of Nissan Pavillion set in the woods of Columbia. Bonus is that it is not hard to get in and out of the parking lot! Hell, you can even park across the street at the mall/business complex and walk. The sounds is ususally very good and it is a real chill atmosphere. Definitely prefer over Nissan and even VA Beach and Hershey.

I agree... Great venue for a DMB show. More intimate than other locations. I got lucky with pavillion seats so I can't wait!

Re: Official Merriweather Post Pavilion, Columbia, MD Thread

Hey everyone. I got reserved from the Warehouse. So, see everyone there. I saw Matchbox 20 from the lawn back during the summer of 98. Definately feels smaller then most other Pavilions, however I had a positive experience.
