Unknown Dave Songs From 1989 Coming Soon
Posted by Jake Vigliotti in Band Collaborators at 9:00pm on Monday, Aug 4th, 2003Some of Dave's earliest recordings will finally reach a large audience. In 1989, Dave recorded some songs with Mark Roebuck, Co-Writer of The Song That Jane Likes. Roebuck founded the Charlottesville band The Deal. In the fall of 1989, Matthews and Roebuck wrote 4 songs together - counting The Song That Jane Likes - and also recorded 6 others. Those 10 tracks will be released some time in 2003. Included on the release is Stillborn Child, available for download from their site, sung by Roebuck and a young, octave-higher, Dave. These recordings are some of the earliest recordings of Dave singing known (along with the recording of Mother's Night from around that same time - Just ask around for it, you should be able to find it). It comes from a time when very little is known about the professional singing career of Dave. Keep checking here or The Deal homepage for more info!
