Dave ranks in top 10 on holiday wish list albums, again.
Posted by Joe Maliszeski in Magazine Appearances at 3:00pm on Tuesday, Dec 16th, 2003Dave Matthews ranks a high fifth for Some Devil this year on VH1’s 2nd Annual Holiday CD poll, a poll that ranks the top albums on holiday wish lists. The survey is conducted on a sample of 20-49 year-olds nationally. This places Matthews in a category of his own, as he is the only artist to be in the Top 10 both years the poll has been conducted. The Some Devil album was beat out by the latest Beatles album Let it Be… Naked and 3 “Best of” compilations from The Eagles, Red Hot Chili Peppers and Bruce Springsteen.
The Dave Matthews Band also pulled out a Top 10 ranking for Top Grossing Tours of 2003. The band brought in a large 52.6 million over the past year which placed them seventh overall, according to Billboard. The number one grossing act of 2003 was The Rolling Stones, bringing in nearly 300 million. The band appears to have kept steady compared with the 2002 grossing of 52.8 million which placed the band 5th.
