DMB's violinist joins up with South Carolina's finest, Hootie and The Blowfish in Columbia on January 30 at Jillian's, according to the official site. The concert is a benefit show to help raise money for Senator John Edwards (D-NC) presidental run. Back in 2000, Boyd also played a political fundraiser (he was the president of Virginia Teen Democrats while a High School student), so it's not out of the ordinary for Tinsley to lend a few strings for his cause. Hootie, or Darius Rucker as he prefers, played one show with DMB in 1996.
