SPAC is Back :: Festival is Out
Posted by Joe Maliszeski in Tour News at 4:00pm on Monday, Apr 26th, 2004Saratoga Performing Arts Center (SPAC) in NY has made a fashionably late appearance to the summer tour with two dates, Friday July 2nd and Saturday July 3rd. SPAC continues its streak with only missing one other appearance since 1996. Warehouse ticketing lottery is in progress now for fan-club members and will end Monday May 3 at noon. The public on-sale date is set for May 8th at 10am. The news of SPAC dates being added is sure to please many concert goers as there was an outcry for the addition of SPAC dates since the initial tour dates were announced back in Feburary.
An email sent out by the warehouse about the proposed festival that was anticipated for the July 4th weekend reads, "We are extremely disappointed, however, to announce that the DMB festival will not be happening. We have been putting a great deal of time and effort over the past few months into trying to make the festival happen but due to logistical issues, it simply cannot happen this year. We assure you that we will continue to look for suitable opportunities and locations for DMB festivals in the future. We would especially like to thank all of the fans who responded to our surveys to help us develop this concept. We value your feedback and we will certainly keep it in mind as we plan future events." Based on discussions on the message board, fans are sad to hear this festival news but are willing to wait for another possible festival down the road and are glad the band will still play the July 4th weekend.
